I put rock lights on my Tundra about 4 months back. When I did it, I drilled through the electrical harness on the right front fender and ended up hitting my fuel power wire. I got this fixed by a mechanic who did the rewiring. I didn’t learn my lesson and put the rock light near the place I originally drilled it in just so the lights looked even. It drove fine for about 3 days and then everything started. I will drive my truck about 30 mins each time I get into it and every-once and awhile it doesn’t start. No matter what I try to do to reset it the only thing that usually works is letting it sit. Sometimes it has to sit for 10 mins and sometimes for a whole day for it to start back up. I tried to disconnect the battery each time it happened and let it sit but that seems to have no effect either. I also replaced the fuel pump and once I did that it was fine again for the whole day then in the morning I had the same problem. I’ve also tried disconnecting the rock lights completely and still the same thing happens. The mechanic can’t take it due to the fact when he gets to it, it has to not start, obviously I can’t guarantee it won’t start because it’s so random. I’m going to take a look at the wiring the mechanic did tomorrow, but does anyone have any suggestions I should try? At this point I will take anything.

I'm no expert, but what I would look at is the wiring you pushed through the hole you fabricated, and it may be exposed due vibration and it may be grounding your truck, I would double check the nechanic's wiring for damage as well.. I would also check the fuse box wiring from the bottom to ensure no wiring is damage due to vibration. Hope this helps you resolve the issue

I tried to check all the wires but the connections seem fine. Nothing to the fuse box either. When I attached the code reader it came back blank. However now the truck is not starting at all. I’m so incredibly confused.

Check your fuses, relays... have your battery tested and recharged... a dying battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins.
