Mine were the same. Made it to 100k. Just installed greasable versions this last week.

Just another way to make more service needs (profits)! The less you can lube, the more fail. All about $$$$.

There are none. Toyota stopped after 2017. All the bearings are sealed units.

Not necessarily. There are more failures due to people ignoring the fact they have to routinely add grease to a bearing than units with sealed bearings.

To be fair, many trucks have gone to permanently lubed u-joints years ago. I was surprised when my old 2014 had them. I was also surprised when my 2020 didn’t.

Out of all of them I replaced over the years, the seals were basically the same. Only difference was grease ports. So I don't buy the "sealed" BS.

I was surprised to find my " lifetime free replacement u joints" were without grease zerks and cost $25 each, yet the non lifetime versions with grease zerks only cost $14 each

If you do your own maintenance and plan on keeping the truck for 300k miles, get the greasable. If you get a new truck every 3 years, don't bother worrying about u joints.

Some claim the non greasable u joints are stronger since the entire u joint cross is solid with no grease ports drilled in them. With our 430 gear ratios, I don't think the u joint is the weak link. JMO.
