So, I'm super cheap, but I grabbed a junkyard axle with 100k on it, and installed it myself. Super easy and the rear seals aren't picky at all. Been over a year and 20k miles with no issues.

I ordered some cheapo chinesium fog lights. I wanted to see if they worked decent. I'm hoping to get them installed this week if they come in fast enough. I am planning to wire them to the existing fog light wiring and add them to the unused headlight high beam plug. You only use 1 headlight plug when you go HID because it just needs the harness to signal the relay.

Here's hoping I found cheap lights that will give me a bit better deer coverage and such. It's a sub $30 experiment anyway. https://www.ebay.com/itm/303674963577

The seals are easy, yes. Mine is the actual bearing/tone ring not being pressed on right. Here's what the machine shop did:

    20190215_180816.jpg

They just pressed until it stopped. Then me and my old neighbor gave it a shot with that tool setup made for doing them, but we messed it up too. Maybe I should just buy some axles already pressed and be done with it...

Every option I have explored has some level of downside.

Bags are cool for a small number of tools, but they get frustrating with certain tools. Nothing funner than dumping a bag because you can't find a socket.

Traditional hard boxes with a handle are better than bags as far as finding tools but they're harder to transport. I used 2 of them for years while living the apartment life.

Shelved metal boxes are miles ahead for organization of simple tools, but larger tools have no place in there. The larger tools will have no place in a bag or hard case either to be fair. Shelved boxes are even harder to carry around.

I actually have a small semi-portable shelved box that you can have. It has 3 shallow shelves and a slightly bigger open area at the top. It locks but I don't have the key.
Kind of like this but older and not red.

Yeah, the M/Ts are obnoxious. I figure I’ll get another 15-20k out of these, which at my current rate puts me at August-October of ‘22.

Honestly, I know this is going to sound chzy as hell, but when I do JY runs and know I may need a few oddball tools, I double up.
1- Jansport leather-bottom backpack - same style I used in high school - with all the oddball hinged tools like pliers, snips, BFH, etc.
2- Crescent tool kit not far from this one, only it's a 170 or 180 piece box

I've got caught with my pants down a few times, so I've got a zip-loc baggie with odd metric sizes 3mm-7mm and some small cone wrenches in similar. The backpack is pretty much a "go bag" for my, in that I keep the supply of tools in there separate from my regular tools, so I never kick myself out in the yard, like, "Damn - used that the other day to do XYZ!"

Granted, YMMV. I have a crapload of tools, more than anyone should have. Very mechanical family and I got a ton of hand-me downs over my lifetime, many of which I've passed on to younger generations who deserved it.

Interesting. Falkens are on my list of potential options for when I replace my Cooper ST Maxx.

I'm running the same tire you had. BFG K02's. Probably the most debated all terrain made.

Good tire. Road noise level normal. Uneven wear if your cams are rusted through. Watch for that.

They have been great for me and wear like iron. A lot of people talk trash about them though. Could be justified but I don't have any complaints yet.

    I've had them in snow:

Don't want a Pro. Too expensive for what it is. I'm thinking SR5 with the TRD Off Road package. Then maybe Falkens.

We have them on the 2wd 4runner and they always impress me! Except lately, I keep having slow leaks on one tire; I think curb rash might have gotten something in between the bead. I soaped it today but couldn’t find anything

They definitely last, I just hated the road noise and didn't realize how bad it was until I switched to geolanders. If I lived in a more demanding climate I might have considered them, but for the price and where I live it didnt make sense.
