Had a seriously upsetting afternoon after taking my truck in for a quick wash - I usually do all my own washing, but was on my way to a wedding and the truck was kinda muddy from some fishing I did over the weekend. Decided I'd take it in for a wash and vacuum, payed 35 bucks and this is what I got.

Missing trim extension - $40 bucks
    IMG_0919.jpg
Damage to clear coat in various areas: TBD
    IMG_0920.jpg
Didn't even wipe down the read seat door sill.
    IMG_0922.jpg
Dog hair in the back seat from taking the dogs fishing - sand from the banks. Still just sitting there.... I don't think they vacuumed the back seats at all as my cheap handheld vacuum picks it up and it looks brand-new every time.
    IMG_0924.jpg
All of the windows inside and out are streaky. All the plastic is dehydrated from the soap they used.
    IMG_0926.jpg

So I've gotta rewash my truck now after paying for the "Premium" wash. And look like a bozo rollin' down to the wedding in my half assed truck.

Sent the owner an email... It's all a waiting game at this point but they probably wont do anything.

Anyway, moral of the story - wash your own truck. I didn't like carwashes before this. Now I don't like them at all. They only way I'm taking it in for a wash is if it's being detailed by a professional car service.

    :( :frusty:

I hate the auto car washes. Something always gets jacked.

I may have your corner piece there snookems. I will go check to see if I gave them away.

Ouch! That would seriously piss me off!

Especially paying for not even a half assed job!

That's exactly why I do my own washing! Same with maintenance when I can!

Guess that old adage is true as can be..."if you want something done right..."

Yeah... All I was hoping to get was a quick rinse and wax on the outside and a quick vacuum on the inside, I told them they don't need to Armorall or anything as I do it every couple weeks.

Just gets my undies in a bunch. I'm guessing they wont even reach out to make it right.

Well... I've got a bit of a dent anyways so I might just buy a new one and have it color matched in powdercoating. But jesus. I didn't wanna spend the cash right now.

You are a brave soul for even driving into one of those places! But I hope the owner makes it right and it all gets resolved.

When my wife and I were first dating she stopped at one of those car wash places on our way home from something and I just stood around the car pointing at all the areas they needed to finish/touch up. They thought I was a huge tool and my wife got the first glance at my anal tendencies.

Edit: I just read that last sentence again.. uh, no homo?

Kinda like "the stranger" or "the polar bear".

Urban dictionary that shit. One of them was made in my garage last night getting drunk as 1000 college students after finals.

A little homo. But it's alright. We don't judge people round here!;)

I know right. They are sketchy as hell. This one didn't use a drive through washer it was more wash bays with pressure washers and guns so I thought. Damn they'll do a good job! But instead they effed everything up.

    :pout:

Joe, that seriously SUCKS!! I'd be PISSED!!! Once I had one of my cars I used to own washed at a place and they took off the left side of my lower bumper part! What?!?!?!? They eventually payed for it after arguing that it happened there and not before I brought it in.

I'm sorry that has happened to you. That's exactly why I do ALL my washing myself. So if it does get jacked up I'm to blame.

Please tell me this is a carwash, Taco Bell combo?!? Get a car wash while you wait for your bean burritos w/no onions.

Jk. No but seriously, who the F puts onions on their bean burro!?

I'm with ya man. As I said, I've always done my own washing! It just had to happen on this one singular occasion where I was in a time crunch. Learned my lesson I suppose. haha

Honestly, it's the clear coat I'm bummed about. It usually takes time for prep and spray and dry. Plus, it's not exactly cheap. So we'll see what happens. Hopefully they make it right. If they don't - I might have to claim it on insurance.

Damn, sorry buddy. I'm so pissed for you right now I'm going to boycott carwashes. And I'm not going to wash my own truck neither. Atleast until I get this foam cannon working. And even then, I'm not going to enjoy it.

It blows right? Especially since money is still somewhat tight and stuff. Oh well though, life goes on! hahaha Did you ever figure out the driveway issues? I can come lay down in your drive way so it runs off into the garden if you need.

Well... My hope is to have my insurance company look up their business insurance company and battle it out. That's what my agent is saying we should do at least. He said hes been successful in a handful of other cases where similar things have happened.
