Abs, Brake, and Trac off lights, c1251 & c0273

Any experienced Toyota guys have any idea what's these lights mean? Abs, Brake, and Trac off lights are on solid. The lights used to turn on every 5th drive and would turn off on the next drive. Now they are on all the time and won't turn off. I've checked the abs wheel sensor wires and everything looks fine. Fuses look good as well.

These are the codes I pulled with techstream: c1251 and c0273. I tried to run the Abs motor relay test with techstream and it pops up with an error and says it can't run.

 

C0273/13

Description: Open in ABS Motor Relay Circuit

Causes:
 ABS1 fuse
 Harness or connector (+BM
circuit)
 VSC actuator (skid control
ECU)

C1251/51

Description: Open in Pump Motor Circuit

Causes:
 ABS1 fuse
 VSC actuator (skid control
ECU)

Double check that ABS1 fuse in the box under the hood, and for corrosion. Test for battery power on pin #16 for the "VSC Actuator connector A17" (the one on the ABS / VSC pump module) and ground on pin #1. Test the power and ground while the circuit is "loaded" with a headlight bulb, a sealed=beam light is great for this.

 

Pulled out the ABS1 Fuse and tested with an ohms meter and its fine. I'll check the VSC Actuator connector for power tomorrow, the mosquitos tried to carry me away.

 

@joeyman15 having this same issue with my 2009. Checked my relays as well. No issues there. Did you ever solve the issue?

 

I'm pretty sure the ABS assembly needs to be replaced because there is a relay built into it. I haven't done it yet but I found another post where someone had the same issue and that fixed it for him.

 

@joeyman15 pretty disappointing with only 60k miles.

 

It surely is, I'm only at 50k. You can find the part on ebay for $150-200, at some point I'll replace it.

This is the one for my model year, not sure if you need to get one for your model year or if they are all the same.

Same issue for me- ABS, emergency brake & traction control lights all on. checked fuses & disconnected negative battery terminal. no luck. @joeyman15 did replacing the ABS assembly fix your issue?

 

Yes the ABS assembly fixed it. Ended up being the ABS pump that went bad.
