I have been Lurking and now joined ,Great posts here. I Live on Vancouver Island and am going to buy a 2021 Tundra or 2022 .This will be my last new big Truck before retirement. Have a 2009 GMC Sierra Crew 4x4 6 foot box.4.8 Litre. 126,000 K on it Honestly its been a great truck .Only it has a low Tow spec of 4800LBs (yes that is correct) and Ia mgoing to have to start spending money on it to ensure peace of mind on retirment road trips
I have a line on 2021 Double Cab sport premium 300miles away. Since i have to act fast if I want it I took out a local 2108 doble cab TRD off Road 40,000k and 2021 Platinum crew 17,000K .
I noticed quite a bit of road noise 2018 had luggier BFG's Platinum had stock tires
More noise than my entry level GMC.2021 .I would have put it down to the BFG's but Platinum seemed to be the same .Platinum May have needed an alignment as Steering wheel was hunting a little side to side . Its also the road noise may have been the exhaust rumble rather than tire or rear end howl.Of course I cant drive the 2022 yet to compare. I am a Rotational Technician so do Vibration analysis on Machinery/ Machinist /Diesel Mechanic .Noise bothers me unless i can put it down to Raw power like an Exhaust rumble .That Being Said the Diesel Mechanic part loves the Twin Turbo Idea, except from a cost of repair perspective .. Signed Neil just another 2021-2022 Confused buyer

Personally, I like a good old fashioned NA v8 with minimal bells and whistles.
'21 for me. If there is a next truck for me, it will be a restored classic.

Welcome! Proven reliability and availability go to the 21. On the other hand, the 6.5bed on the CM and the updated interior calls to me. Im going to keep my 21 for atleast a couple years to see what if any issues arise. I just dont see how a TT v6 is going to give the lifespan that the 5.7 has.

New 22 all day long. Stronger tailgate, better cameras, much better torque at much lower rpm. if you are getting a truck to use it as a truck, tow, haul, you have no choice but to get the 22

    Welcome from Ohio
I personally can't bring myself to the v6 part as of now. The 5.7 has proven it's self for a long time

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! I'd stick with the 5.7 until there is a couple of years worth of data on the new platform.

2022 PRICE UPDATE .15 minutes after making my initial post here, dealer 3 minutes away called. I had $500 no obligation to get on 2022 list.
They need tp order 7 Trucks .Since I am not sure whether to TRD off Road or Sport they are getting both In .Pricing is due out NOV 21,with Delivery estimated Dec 21 (subject to Change) . Since its no obligation I can still buy 2021 .Thanks for all your input
