I have a 2016 Tacoma that I have had for 6 years. I created the KDMax tune and got my truck built like I wanted. Now I am ready to get the 2022 Twin Turbo and start tuning it.

After watching all the videos last night about the new Tundra, I am excited.
I have a friend who is a Sales Manager at our local Toyota Dealership. He is going to get a Black Pro or Limited TRD Off Road allocated as soon as it is possible for me.
I really want the Pro but I think the Hybrid will limit the ability to tune it. This leaves me with getting a Non-hybrid Twin Turbo Limited Off Road Tundra that I will have most of the capabilities of the Pro--4wd, MTS, crawl control, rear locker.

    Here is my current Tacoma.

I wonder if the ECU will be locked like on the new GMs. Don't think anyone has cracked those yet.

Talking to my Salesman friend at Toyota just now. He is going to let me hook up to the first New Tundra that he gets in. So i will be able to check if its locked or not.

According to Mat at Vftuner, we are supposed to have day 1 support for the 2022. We shall see!!
I just hope that both Hybrid and Non hybrid are supported. That way I can get the Pro.

Probably a dumb question, but curious what tuning you're going to do? Just trying to learn

I have a guy in Shreveport that has 20 years of tuning experience with FI muscle cars. We’re going to put it on his Dyno and see if we can get a little extra power. I’ll also look at the shift points, throttle and overall drive-ability.
The Vftuner software has a lot of maps to tweak for the Tacoma and hopefully will have many for the new Tundra.

Even if the Toyota engineers did a good job tuning the new trucks, there is always room for improvement and more power!
