Another thing to keep in mind is that towing a camper is like towing a sail. You will not get decent MPG no matter the weight, and it will only get worse as you climb in speed/altitude.

All bets are off the table when asking this question. Everyone drives different, not to mention your are pulling a brick. I live in flat country,FLA. I pull my camper Coachmen Apex 265RBSS around 7500 lbs. Trailer tires aired up to 65psi. I have E rated Bridgstone REVO 3's on the Truck run at 70 psi. while towing. I run 93 octane while towing. At 63 to 65 mph I can get 10 to 11mpg, pretty much anything over that speed I can expect to around 9.5 down to 8 mpg.

Just remember it's not a race get in the R/H lane and enjoy the scenery. Just as a reminder unless you upgraded your trailer tires they may have a lower speed rating on them also, lots of different factors when towing. If you have a heavy foot w/o a trailer, with a trailer it's gonna be worse. JMO

I tow a 28ft 6500lb camper. Average 9-10mpg in the mountains of PA. I keep it around 60 to 65 max. No issues towing at all.

I must have something different with my truck because I’ve never seen anything over 15mpg. I tow an enclosed 6x12 trailer and mpg gauge is always around 8mpg so my average right now is 12.3.

I’ve got a 5.7 as well so maybe I’m geared different?? Is that a thing?

Sorry didn't word that correctly. Those numbers are unloaded. Just showing how much speed can affect the mileage. It will be compounded even more with a large trailer in tow.

I pulled a 18' 3500lb trailer for 2 years. Then I pulled a 27' 7000lb trailer for the proceeding 2 years. Up and down the rockies, desserts of UT/AZ/NV, highway 1 in Canada, etc. I tracked every mile when the trailer was hitched. I averaged 7.6mph, with the lowest being 5.8 and highest 11.2.

So to answer your question, yes that's normal.

I have the 38gal tank, and I still had to fill up 3x a day even if I started the day with a full tank. #annoying

I did a trip across the Annapolis bay bridge and back (3 hrs) last week and hung out around 55-60 mph and saw around 10-11 mpg towing a 33 ft trailer (total length w/ hitch) 6200 lbs.
