Does anybody know if you can swap the stock CD player in an 08 tundra with a touchscreen?

Anything is possible, depending on cost and if you plan on DIY or having it done by a shop

Agree with this... I heard Google play headunits are inexpensive and you can look them up online... some are opting for the Tesla touchscreen theme where its out vs recessed into the dash.. apple play also has some decent options... I'm more in favor of dummy units though...

Yes, and it's very easy to take everything apart and put together.

I went with an Alpine w650. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are so nice. What and upgrade.

Agree, I swapped out with a jvc unit with apple play. Makes a world of difference. Plug your phone in and you can run any app from your radio. XM, Spotify, pandora etc...plus, you can run google maps too.

I don't think that would work without rewiring, just based on my seeing different harnesses for the different generations. But regardless you'd probably be way happier just getting an aftermarket touchscreen head unit. They can be very plug-and-play.

I have the Pheonix unit linked above and it's great but NOT plug-and-play. Check Crutchfield.

I also went with the Alpine 650 its a really great head unit. What are your plans? Just head unit or doing speakers an subs?
But for just the head unit you will need
1.)double din face trim an install kit
2.)a factory to aftermarket adapter harness
3.) double din of your choice

what options does your Tundra have right now in the stereo department?

    Thanks

I took out the stock JBL navigation deck in a 2010 and replaced it with a Pioneer WT8600NEX about a month ago. Had to run a line to the Reverse Power wire in the passenger kick panel for the reverse camera. I still cant figure out the steering wheel control with the PAC SWI RC1. The deck was easy to take out though.

can you post some more pics/videos? I’m looking at this one but unsure if I’ll like how far it sits off the dash…

    Thanks in advance!
