I couldn’t find a ton of information on these lights so being a PIAA fanboy back in the 90’s I figured I’d pull the trigger and see how they perform. I purchased one set of the SAE version and two sets of the non SAE version all of them in amber color.

    Non SAE is PN 22-05372
    SAE is PN 22-05370

To aim these I parked 25’ away from a vertical wall and measured 26” high since that is the height the lights are installed.

The lights look well made and came with a wiring harness which I didn’t need to use due to the Raptor having upfitter switches installed but the wiring, relay, connectors and switch were quality parts. They also came with stone guards but due to where mine are mounted I couldn’t utilize them.

The SAE version have a nice clean cut off but throw minimal amount of light and I’m not too impressed with how they will function in a fog situation. I have these mounted to a separate switch so I’ll be able to tell the difference and will report back. I believe they make a direct replacement kit for the Tundra but could be wrong. If my memory serves me correctly I’d say my OEM Tundra LED fog lights were brighter even after I put an amber film over them.

The non SAE version throws a decent amount of light and keeps a tight beam pattern. I backed up and got down to eye level and don’t find them to be overly bright or scattering light everywhere, so I don’t see a problem running these on the road. I wired them to a separate switch so I can run them independent of the SAE version if I do blind on coming traffic.

In the end I regret buying the SAE version and might swap them out for the non SAE version in the future. Cost for the SAE was about $248 for a set and the non SAE were $208 per set.

I have three PIAA RF18 that I need to Mount and will report back on those when that happens. One thing I like about those off the bat is that I was able to combine them together to make one solid light bar that is 54” wide.

    Follow up:
Driving home this early super foggy AM I had the two sets of non SAE and the one set of SAE illuminated and I got flashed a couple times so I turned off the non SAE lights since I wired them to a separate circuit and didn’t get flashed after that.
