What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Put new rotors and pads on last week. Then noticed one small spot on the rotor is missed by the pad so rust was showing. That really bothers my OCD haha. So took the wheels back off and took care of it with some caliper paint.

 

What kind of wheels are those?

I recently purchased a DA polisher to use on my tundra but tried it out first on my daughters card using McGuires ultimatum compound and ultimate polish. She had some pretty nasty water spots left over from going through a sprinkler and I was able to get them out and left a really nice finish. My Tundra has some water spot etchings on the roof and some on the tailgate from a while back so anxious to try it as soon as I get time. Tundra in the background so it applies lol

 

Where did you get those discs in the center caps and how do they install? I have the same wheels so would appreciate the info on those.

 

eBay. They come with a 3m adhesive backing. But I put a couple dabs of black rtv on the back to be safe and they’ve been on there for over 2 years now.

 

so they just apply directly over the fuel centers without removing anything?

No. I removed the fuel logo first. They are attached with plastic rivets. Pop the cap off and pop the rivets off the back and the Fuel cover will come off.

 

I picked up some water spot remover from a tip on this site. It worked well and removed the spots.
The active chemical in that stuff is vinegar. So, I too the wife's white wine vinegar outside and applied it to a terry cloth towel.
Rubbed it on some spots and BOOM!, they came off instantly.
My recommendation is vinegar application on the bad spots, then wash with graphine type wash n wax n seal.

 

yeah I have tried multiple things (by hand)but these are not surface spots unfortunately - they are etched in pretty good, probably from when it was sitting on the lot before I bought it in 2019. But I haven’t tried it with the DA yet so if that doesn’t work then I’ll have to look at something else. Thank you for the Tip!

what brake setup did you get? I need to change brake pads and was thinking about upgrading.

 

They are not power fold, but they’re OEM and a pretty sweet addition.

 

Are they available with BSM?

 

Decided to go the extra mile with the tire rotation and black lug nuts. Didn’t seem right leaving the tires dirty.

Unfortunately no. Lots of aftermarket ones do

 

Bought some replqcement valve caps as I was missing a couple. Got the longer 'tpms specific' ones, unfortunately only 1 goes on as the stems seem to be not out far enough? 2nd wheel pic is the valve that took the cap.

They all seem tight. For now the others have regular schraeder bicycle type caps.

 

Just ordered my new Faulken wildpeak AT3 tires and the bumper shim kit from coachbuilder. I’ll post pics in a few weeks when I get everything installed.

Do the door seals and all the plastic on the bed rails, bumpers and if you have plastic overlays on the running boards.
