    Lots.
Received and installed my @Rago Fabrication Tundra Dash Plate. I had ordered it the first week of June but due to back order I had to wait about 2-1/2 month to receive the part. In that time they made a modification to the original and the newly designed dash plates incorporate a recessed center mounted USB port. I received the new version which I find to be an improvement as I intended to install an ICS Quick Charge 3.0 USB port on the dash plate anyway to reduce cable clutter. IMG_1143.jpg

I ordered the USB port from ICS as well as their Tundra 2014+ Lower Dash Mount Support Plate on the same day as I ordered the Dash Plate from Rago. I replaced the USB port that came with the plate with the ICS model to take advantage of the Quick Charge 3.0 capability.

    https://www.ics-fab.com/products/ics-lower-dash-mount-support-plate
    https://www.ics-fab.com/products/ic...78782&pr_ref_pid=4754775277630&pr_seq=uniform

    IMG_1148.jpg

To help in measuring and drilling the dash I attached some 3M trim adhesive to the bottom of the dash plate mount.

    IMG_1150.jpg

Then I placed the mount in the grooves in the dash recess and aligned it to be equal on all sides.
Note: I found that if you placed the tabs in the bottom of the mounting plate into the grooves in the dash recess and pushed the plate towards the windshield until it stopped that it perfectly centered the dash plate in the recess.

I followed the video instructions from Rago to remove the radio to allow access to the bottom of the dash plate.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBGQcwEsslg

I then used a Harbor Freight 90 degree angle drill attachment to drill through the holes in the plate and into dashboard. Then I marked the ICS Support Plate through the drilled holes with a sharpie so that I could drill corresponding holes into it. I installed the lower mounting plate with the Rago supplied bolts and some larger SS fender washers to give added support to the plate that now sandwiched the dash material.
I also drilled a hole for the cable for the USB outlet with a rubber grommet where it passes through the dashboard.

    IMG_1153.jpg

I used wire loom and heat shrink to protect the wiring and Posi-Taps to make a secure connection to the cigarette lighter wires.

    IMG_1155.jpg

After reinstalling the radio and parts I removed to allow access I attached RAM mounts to the dash plate to hold my iPhone 12, iPad Mini, and GoPro Hero 9 Black. I took the truck out for a test drive on some light trails and found the attachments to be very steady with little vibration. I'm very satisfied with the results.

The new style plate is killer!
Wonder if they’ll do swaps or trades?

    A heads up on ICS;
I’m about to file a warranty claim with them.
My mount base plates have yellowed and faded.
    Kinda disappointed.

Truck camping build: I’ve now added some mesh pockets and a tri-fold mattress to the truck vault. Still have a ways to go, but it’s coming together nicely. I’m considering a Rhino-rack roof rack and Sunseeker awning. I also still need to purchase a Jackery portable power station and some cooking and camping supplies.

I dunno if Rago would do a swap out or not, but my gut feeling is probably not.
Wow, that's too bad about the ICS mounts fading on you. I went with RAM mounts because I have used them for years on my Harley's and kayaks and I have a bunch of those components laying around. Eventually I may switch over to 67 Designs carbon fiber arms at some point but they are pretty pricey and for now the RAM mounts work just fine.

Thanks! I love kayak fishing, but dread packing up, driving home and unloading after a full day (8 or more hours) of fishing. This way, I can put my kayak back on the trailer, whip up some dinner, and go to sleep. Then I can be right back on the water the very next day. So far, the build’s going well, but slowly! Anyway, thanks again!

Now that I'm on my computer, it's a little more clear. On my phone, not so much.

Looking forward to the shifter trim piece in the background.

It doesn't look like it would be too difficult to add that to the current design. A hole saw for the main port and two screw holes. The ICS one with quick charge would be the way to go anyway.

    Lots.
I agree on both counts. You could just use a hole saw and create the center hole to mount the USB port easy enough. The ICS QC 3.0 USB port I swapped out is much faster than the one they included with the new Rago plate.

Yeah, I have the 67 Designs carbon fiber arms as well.
    They are great!

I thought the ICS mounts were supposed to be top of the line.
    Hopefully, they’ll cover under warranty.

Yes, that’s true. I do plan on having a water jug and one of my coolers (maybe just my backpack cooler) there. I can always put my 50-quart cooler in the back seat. Still working that stuff out. Plus, I haven’t figured out how to store my 7-foot bass rods in there while camping. If I install the roof rack, I might be able to improvise these overhead straps to attach to the roof rack bolts/nuts in my shell (just an idea I’d been thinking about).

It’s a work in progress to be sure.

On another note, I’m not single, but go kayak fishing by myself, so this set-up is definitely just for me (and maybe my dog)! :) Thanks!

In like a breeze, noticed the improvement immediately — even backing down the driveway it was noticeable!
