Congrat's on all the wedding anniversaries! We are coming up on our 29th later this year, and my parents just had their 55th. Take good care of your "better halves" and it only get's better and better.

That'd be cool too! I said Alaska just because their seasons are usually around now, so could be on a hunt during the actual anniversary.

For the hunters and fishers out there, what do you guys do to protect your leather from water, dirt, mud and blood? It seems ridiculous to buy covers for leather seats but I have thought about it. I know it's a truck, but I still want to keep those platinum seats looking nice!

Really happy with my Carhartt covers, although I haven't truly tested them yet. Marathon makes high quality covers that held up great on my last truck.

If your wife is game (haha) for hunting, what about a heli hog hunt in TX? That’s on my bucket list for sure.

I can’t do Mexico. Been twice, got sick both times. Love everything about that country except the water bugs.

If I did get covers I would want something that is easier to remove. I would probably only use them during fall and winter.

Part of me has a hard time covering up the nice seats. The other part of me wants to make sure they stay nice.

I bought the rear seat covers from Rough Country to protect the seats from the dog. It’s that wetsuit neoprene material and works great. Best part is I can remove it easy for cleaning.

Good cleaning when I get home. Usually a hot soapy rag, then wipe off with hot damp rag, then use dry rag to wipe up. Then a leather conditioner after the hunting season is over or every new season (winter, spring, summer and fall.) I am sure it's not "correct" method, but works for me.

Reason I haven't gotten any covers. But the trd pro leather isn't as nice as the platinum leather. Of I had that I may reconsider.

I just said screw it and took the seats out for the dogs. When I only had two dogs I just lifted the seats. But with 3 or 4 back there at a time I removed the seats and put in a solid platform. So much easier. But I don't have kids or passengers that often in my truck.

I did that once, and when I traded in the vehicle I asked myself why I "saved" the seats for someone else's enjoyment. So I bought a rear seat diaper for the dog, and plan on just cleaning up any dirt that happens to get on the front seats.

That's great perspective right there. I may still get them for fall and winter to cut down on truck cleaning time. Time is TIGHT with 4 Littles ones at home. Any extra time to be out into the woods is a win.

Are these snug or a little loose for easy on/off? I installed Clazzio leather covers over the SR5 fabric, pretty much permanent until they die, and am looking for another temporary cover to go over the Clazzio covers (!). I need them a little loose. When fishing in waders, I get in/out 6-7 times daily, straight from the river, and my seat gets soaked. I need a temporary cover to install for the day, then take it off for the drive home. I did this with my 4Runner but that old cover is worn and bit small for the Tundra

These are definitely a custom tight fit cover. You may want to try an off the shelf one size fits all cover for your needs.
Or throw a dog seat cover on for a temporary waterproof solution.

Thanks. The one-size are always too small (these are big seats!) and the dog covers don’t have good coverage over the side. A common issue is getting in/out, I need a cover that hugs the bottom on the door side of the seat, to avoid catching on baggy waders. I had a neoprene cover (body) with stretch mesh (sides and back) for my 4Runner that was good, wish it came bigger. First world problem!

This is sort of what I was thinking too. When I'm fishing for winter steelhead I get in and out 5 or 6 times right from the river to the truck. So something waterproof and easily removable would be great.

I just ordered a set of Rough Country neoprene covers for the fall and winter. You could always put something like this over them:

HerzensKind Car Seat Protector Pad for Child and Baby Car Seats, Waterproof and Durable Car Seat Mat with Super Thick Padding and Extra Side Protection - Single/Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078JK87RK?_encoding=UTF8

I just called the hotline and it sounds like nothing has changed. We will just need to provide a copy of our DL or passport as part of the exemption process. Nothing related to the policy you have in place. Although the person on the phone did say that “could change”.

This is going to be a cluster…

It's retarded. Young workers will end up paying more than they can use on this long term care tax. I am thinking I need to leave this state already. What was once a beautiful state has turned into a big political mess and I want out.

    Agreed on all points.

A friend on mine is trying to find a policy. She had to call a broker because the company she works for is too small to partner with anyone. The broker said a lot (most?) insurance companies have stopped offering these types of policies in WA to avoid the chaos. They might come back in 2022, but don’t want to be involved in this mess. She just told me another is leaving today. The few quotes she had gotten have a huge upfront cost (thousands of dollars) and a monthly rate 4-5x the state tax. Nuts. Just nuts.

Hmm, I just did some math. If you work 40 years in WA, to break even your average annual salary needs to be $157,xxx.

I bet that is easy to exceed in the Tech industry, but not a majority of jobs in this State. So most people will see a benefit. But that also means those averaging a salary higher than $157k need to make up for those below! The plan’s long term viability quickly comes into question.

I've lived my entire life here and am thinking the same thing. The problem is that with the Wuhan flu, I'm not real excited about flying anywhere. And after living here for so long it's tough to know where to go without spending some serious time checking areas out.
