I haven't had any issues with my original rack after wheeling three years on 33's. I also pulled both my boots earlier this year and there wasn't any sign of leaks.

I remember @AL_TUNDY mentioned blowing through a rack on 35s in their thread and replacing with OEM.

Had a great day yesterday! Everything from the pull apart to the bonfire was amazing. Super excited to help with the Chevy project. :D

Just like that, I went from pitch bitch, to hitch bitch! Some wanker took my ball and my wiring adapter!!! Guess I’ll have to go “find one” on someone else’s truck! Jk, I’ll start throwing it in the cab when I’m not using it from now on, which I feel like I did, but I can’t find it…..

I was on 35x12.5's, and had done alot of 'body work'(cutting and pounding) to fit them, but still rubbed. Now I'm on 34x10.5's and have clearance for days. I don't think the 35 was a problem as much as the 12.5. My next set will be 35x10.5's. If you're rubbing on 34's, you're gonna need to do some 'body work' and/or changeup your wheel spacing (offset/backspacing) in order to run 35's.

In a good mood today. Finally got approved by UnitedHealth for botox treatment of my TMJ. The mouthguard thing and muscle relaxant only works so well. :pccoffee:

Only downside is my upcoming 30 hour trip to/from Tampa for my sister's wedding.:pout:

Sounds like I’ll stick with my 285/75’s.
What 34x10.5’s are you on and what 35x10.5 are you gonna run? I’ve only seen one option in a 17.

My lawnmower doesn't have a drain plug. Weird. I picked it up and dumped it the hard way yesterday and filled it with Mobil 1 synthetic, ran it a few minutes, dumped and refilled again. Topped the has and cut the grass. Tempted to mod that mower just for fun. Thinking a small homemade glass pack.

@shifty` since you are my mirror expert, any idea why the "Tacoma compatible" gentex are so much more than the el cheapos where we wire the mofo ourselves?

I'm tempted to bite just because but man, they are all close to $200, that's a lot of scratch for a mirror.

    I'm guessing it's mostly about 12pin vs 10pin?

Yes, and I will soon have a generic gentex in my Tundra as well (well, once I can actually start modding it) but I was curious wtf is the deal with the 3rd gen Tacoma. Like why so damn pricey? All about the stupid plug it seems?

I wish it had one, anything is better than running it dry and flipping the whole mower.

I'd actually like to put a fumoto on my trans. I have a trans skid plate with no hole for draining. Cutting a hole doesn't sound fun and I need to change the fluid anyway. Maybe a fumoto on my trans will work.

You got me, man. Probably someone did a writeup somewhere and it drove the price up.

I will say, a lot of fleabay sales are done by sellers searching in 'Advanced' and hunting for recently sold items to see what the median sale price is. It's what I used to do - I'd find median sale price and up that by 10% and see how it rides out. Eventually, with enough sales that way, average price goes up.

But who knows. I don't see a reason why.

Took the scenic route home after dropping Ms. D2M off today. Truck is running like a million bucks. Today I learned that early 00's Camry tie down points don't work well for recovery. At least I earned a few good Samaritan points.

Inno rack works very well on the truck, I need to adjust the fairing a tiny little bit but otherwise wind noise is minimal... I'll be using the Inno in two weeks to haul a 10' and 12' kayak on the roof.

I'll be headed to the Colorado River next weekend since my t-case leak is fixed. :bananadance:

My current 34x10.5x17’s are BFG K02’s. Will be getting the Kenda Kevlar RT’s for the 35x10.5x17’s. I honestly haven’t really searched for other brands in this size, so not sure what other options are out there.

So… your 285/75’s are equivalent to 33.8x11.2 just an fyi. Found this review from a guy that made the same switch. Interesting that he says the BFG 34’s measure out at 32”. I never actually measured mine. He also says they’re the only 35x10.5 on the market. Idk

The st maxx has been a great tire for the past 45k and measures out to a true 34 at 34.04x11.1. Only issue I’ve had is they’re a bitch to balance! 95% sure I’ll get the same for replacement. Waiting for more 35x10.5 options!

I wanted to share this in case anyone cares. You may remember me saying that Toyota sells a master cylinder repair kit which I ordered last year. Once I had my master apart, it was clear the parts wouldn't work even though two websites said the part # was for my VIN. I finally emailed McGeorge to ask what gives.

    • 04311-34020.This is the part # I ordered and I believe it only works on the V6 Tundra.
    • 04493-0C011. This is the part # for the V8 which has been discontinued but some may still exist on shelves.
    • It looks like the master cylinder itself has been discontinued along with the booster. If you can find the repair kit, it might be the only way to get OEM quality parts for your old master cylinder.

Not sure about that. I tried the main Toyota parts website and it won't even pull up that part #.
    This is all McGeorge said.

Looks like 04493-0C020 is the kit for newer models, maybe the kit changed for the 4.7 VVT trucks?

PS - sometimes including or omitting the dash throws the Toyo parts system off, resulting in 'not found' issues.

Just confirmed this is the case. Using the dashed number produces 'not found' in parts.toyota.com, using it without the dash results in 'discontinued'.

I may end up buying a kit from one of the Toyota sites with a few still showing in stock, just to have on-hand ....

Are you rebuilding your master cylinder or am I misreading your post?

I tried to at the beginning of the year but once I got my OEM master apart it was clear that the rebuild kit I ordered was wrong. So I set those parts aside and ordered an aftermarket master cylinder from Rock Auto which I installed with zero change in my mushy pedal. I just wanted to clarify the rebuild kit because I had mentioned it a lot in the past and never followed up as to why it didn't work.

I'm considering going full send and doing the T100 swap.
