Great question I too have that intermittent popping sound and cannot seem to track it down.

I tracked my sound to only when accelerating. Mine is on the very front of my dash where the window is framed. The column that contains the oh shit handle, at the very bottom.

    Same with you guys?

The only thing that rattled in mine was the removable shelf inside the glovebox. I took it out and no more rattling.

I havent pin pointed it exactly... but it does tend to happen more when accelerating and going over small road bumps. has to be something!

Its not soo much of a rattle it is more like a tapping or poping. Or like i said earlier like someone is dropping tic tacs on top of the daah.

Others who have had this problem placed thick pieces of velcro between the dash and the lower portion of the windshield to prevent the rubbing and it took care of their noise. Others have placed thick velcro between their dash and the a-pillar and it took care of their noise. Mine makes a noise in the a-pillar (behind the handle) only when the temp is below 45 degrees. Good luck, it seems everyone's noises are a little bit different.
