So… I can’t get my topper off. Topper has been on for 3-3.5 years. The clamps are off, third brake light is disconnected.

that said, it’s stuck and I’m not sure how much upward pressure is safe, or even really how to do it. Tips for ‘braking the seal’ by myself?

If it was installed properly with some foam, it’ll take a decent amount of pressure to break that seal. You’ll need at least 2, ideally 4, people to get it off and set it down softly.

I don’t actually need to take it off, I just need to pop it free so I can get a few blocks under it… I’m installing a topper lift, but gotta do the first one manually

Best way is to get on one side and lift each corner a little at a time. It’ll gradually start to break the seal. You ought to be able to lift it enough to slide a couple of short blocks in on each side. Just don’t tilt it too far….

I use a small pry bar to break the seal myself, not a crowbar with a round hook but something with a broad wider prying surface and maybe stick a towel or something soft as the face between painted surfaces of the top and bed if thats what you have? Fiberglass or metal top?

Just be careful and take it slow and once a small part breaks loose the rest should be easy to get going.
I use small blocks of 2x4 then and either lift it 2 or 4 inches while rigging the lift.

When I had to pop mine off, I crouched down in the bed and pushed up in the center of the roof with my back and it broke free.

Same here. I would just push it up with my back. To remove it, I would then walk it back till about 40% was off of the bed. I would then jump down and use a couple of friends to lift it off the rest of the way.

Glad to see there isn't some amazing way of doing this that I hadn't thought of. This has always been my approach.

Took mine to a shop to get resealed about $200 "they used a forklift" vs breaking something... me or my Tundra.

Such a cool setup. Any more pictures? I really like their products but don't see them out in the wild much at all.

No carnage, not really. There might an extra hole or two, but I can hide those. I did have to cut into my decked system, but it worked just fine. I’ll get some more pics up this week.

other than testing in the driveway, I haven’t used it. I like it but think I need to make some adjustments in the tent for a better fit
