Read the stuff I linked. You don't compete with them in court. You do nothing that costs you money.

There’s definitely good stuff in those links. I think the issue for most people is going to be if they get denied can they wait with their vehicle potentially out of commission for however long it takes to go through any sort of appeals process on the warranty? I would be surprised if contacting the State Attorny General results in a quick and easy resolution. It’s a slippery slope all the way around and a risk you are taking if you choose to modify a vehicle.

True, it may take time, and we are all in our own situations that we have to deal with. I put in bold something that I think tons of people forget. For it to be under warranty, it's new, and if it's new and you are modding it, I would really really hope you can afford for it to be out of commission for a time. Gambling with mods when it's all you've got is pretty risky. As ever, you gotta pay to play.

I just don't think that anyone working in a service department could deny your warranty with a straight face for installing a cooler. OEM's, aftermarket manufacturers, transmission builders; they all know without a doubt that a cooler transmission is a better transmission. This is not a Valvoline synthetic ATF vs Toyota WS type of argument for a warranty repair. The only angle they could possibly take is saying that you are towing too heavy and that is why you installed a cooler which is very thin at best.

Either that or the cooler install wasn’t correct. I agree it shouldn’t cause an issue you just hear these stories about people who have run into problems when trying to get warranty work after modification and it makes you think twice.

Likely depends on the dealer and the owner. If the dealer wants any further sales to the owner they will likely just file the claim. I mean if they denied you warranty would you seriously ever buy another vehicle from them.

I tend to view the service and sales departments separately. If their sales people are awesome and they get you a good deal, but the shop is run by a bunch of ass clowns? I'd buy, but skip service.

Oh, there are plenty like that, and maybe it's a little different down here. Not sure.

There are two Toyota dealerships in my town. The one I bought my ‘21 tundra from would not flush the transmission with or without the cooler kit. They would do a drain and fill with the Toyota WS fluid, though. They were really whiney about the whole thing.

The other dealership not only said the cooler and kit WOULD NOT void the warranty they did a complete flush with my AMSOIL fluid. A quick note: the service manager preferred I use their WS fluid but did not make a big deal out of me using AMSOIL. Nor did anyone at the dealership whine about it. I can respect wanting to sell your stores brand but whining about is totally unprofessional.

50 Buck is absolutely correct. Look up and read the Magnussen/Moss warranty act.

Edit: I spoke to an oil guy at Schaeffer a couple of months ago. Concerning transmission fluid he stated if it runs at 240 or higher get it flushed as soon as practical as there is no fluid made right now than can run at those temps without starting serious fluid breakdown.
