Where do you fit a large cooler (beer), small cooler (Food), dog crate, firewood, pop-up canopies, chairs, tents, etc? o_O

Are we camping or mountain biking? lol

And for real, my RTIC hard cooler fits up in the front of the bed, tent/gear lays in bed between each bike, I dont have a dog but he can ride in the cab anyways, chairs/firewood fit in bed next to the cooler up against the cab side of the bed. Only thing that doesnt fit is the pop up canopy, but I dont need it because I'm going biking, not setting up pits at the race track lol

I went this route. When I get around to it I'll put nutserts in the bed so that they're easy to take off when I need to haul anything big. I also have some fat d rings in the bed where I loop a heavy cable lock through each bike.

Its the best way if you don't care about the paint on the bottom of your downtube.
Not good for carbon frames, too much movement causing paint rub over time.
I agree it's quick and easy and works well for carrying several bikes easily.
I see some DJ bikes in this pic, and I'd probably throw my DJ in like that, but not my Carbon Stumpy.
I try to avoid any contact with the frame when mounting the bike.

Hitch racks or something utilizing the factory rails, like the Inno RT202 (https://usa.innoracks.com/product/rt202/) are the best ways to go without taking up cargo space or spending more money on the bike rack than the bikes themselves.
Anything where you have to remove the wheel is out, just another step in the process and you still have to figure out how to carry the wheel without damage. If I'm just going to ride I use the side rails in the back with the tailgate down. If we're going on a trip and need to carry a bunch of stuff, the hitch rack goes on. I have a Rocky Mounts SplitRail that folds down, even with bikes loaded, for full access to the tailgate/bed. All these mounts on top of the bed covers are cool, but that's a lot of time and energy, and money when you could have just bought a robust hitch mount and moved on to other things. The overland type setups are ideal if you're carrying a lot of gear, but that's on the extreme end of things. Most of us ride locally, most of the time, so the more simple (and temporary) solutions work best.

Cool, I don’t pay for your bikes or your truck so do your thing. I’m just saying I wouldn’t lay my carbon frame over a pad on a tailgate. I’ve done numerous shuttle days and I’ve seen the aftermath of going up bumpy fire roads and the bottom of the down tubes on bikes just get destroyed over time. If you’re just running down to the local bike park or trails you’ll probably be fine. If you’re doing big days with multiple shuttle runs with dirty bikes it will take its toll on the paint, and the carbon.

Yea, agreed, rough shuttle days are brutal on bikes either way.

I pretty much just transport to the trail and ride, not much shuttling for me.

I also do slap some 3M clear tape on the underside of down tube.

Just purchased and INNO INH330 Areo light...very nice rack made in Japan with quality materials, fold up nicely, can access tail gate..the integrated locks and they way the 2 " adapter ratchets in is the best I have personally seen...no movment on the rack and the price point was mid 300's which is very fair IMO....this rack is a 2 bike rack and is particularly good at racking different styles like a beach cruiser and a mountain bike.

Looks cool! I'm a big fan of the 1up products. Would you mind sharing a photo of a bike in the mounts?

Impressive... I was curious to see if the front tires would contact the cab of the truck. Looks like it fits like well. By the way, nice bikes.

Tbutler, thank you. You can set the front to stop where you wish never a problem touching. Just wondering if any cross bracing is necessary?

I just got a RakAttach swing out from 1up USA. Going to be great to access the truck bed with bikes on the rack!

Slick solution Brann. Did you end up drilling through the top of the bedrail in addition to mounting to the C-channel? What is the aluminum spacer for under the Voodoo brackets? Do the bikes seem pretty solid or kinda floppy? Thanks.
