Well that sucks. I asked if I could buy it; busy day at work and I log back in to see this. I guess someone beat me to it in PMs or dibs just isn’t a thing here. Yes I’m a new guy on this board.
Not like you’re hurting for business and I still want to buy these(didn’t know I needed them until a couple weeks ago!), but alrighty then.

I have a 3/16 aluminum rear cat plate that cut badly at the emblem and was bent wrong on one of the edges. This will not come with hardware or brackets. $200 plus shipping

This works well with the RCI plate

@Classy63 do you know how these cat protectors would work/fit with the Transferflow aftermarket fuel tanks? I have the 46 Gallon one in my 21 tundra. Happy to send some photos from underneath if that helps.

    Thanks in advance.

Received my plates this past week and installed them yesterday. Had some unique challenges and thought I'd pass on the details and tips.

    Equipment:
    • Front and rear cat plates
    • Security bolt kit
    • Barnes4WD security washers
    Challenges:
    • RCI engine skid plate
    • AMP Power Steps
    • Installed on-board air tank under truck
The installation of the cat plates would normally not be difficult but due to the above challenges, the install was a PITA.

    Bare or Powder Coat:

For those who think ordering bare verses powder coated thinking it will be quicker, nix that thought. Ordering bare does not really save any shipping time, so go with what you really want. I had a few cans of self etching primer and Krylon Bed Coat spray left over from another project,, so I used these to paint the bare aluminum. Could have used another coat, but ran out and was still better than bare.

By the way, since some folks reported hearing "clatter" after installation, I did adhere a strip of adhesive rubber where the plates overlap in order to prevent any clatter. Had some from a previous project, but is readily available on Amazon:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082F37WJH?ie=UTF8

    On-Board Air Tank:

I have a 2 gallon air tank bolted to the frame on the passenger side. The "Z" bracket provided just enough clearance to install the rear plate under the tank.

    AMP Power Steps

The installation with the AMP Power Steps is not difficult, but does create a challenge when using the Security Bolts. The passenger side hole where the "Z" bracket attaches to the frame is directly behind a pivot arm of the power steps. Three is not enough room to fit the bit key to use the security bolt. Meaning I did not have a short enough socket to hold the bit key. So, I had to resort to using a regular bolt and a short socket. I did use the Barnes4wd security washer here so it does add a little more security. The driver side hole and power step arm are not aligned so I was able to use a security bolt on the passenger side.

    "Z" Brackets:

While bolting the rear plate to the "Z" brackets, I did notice that the washers supplied with the security bolt kit easily pulled through the slots in the "Z bracket. I ended up using larger washers to make sure they did not slip through.

    Rear Plate and "Z" Bracket:

Not sure if I'm unique here, but either the "Z" brackets or the rear plate was too short for my install. There was about a 1/2" 'to 3/4" inch gap between where the rear plat bolts to the "Z" bracket. I adjusted as much as I could, but could not close the gap. I ended up having to use washers to fill in the gap. Not a big deal, but just sayin. BTW, for those using security bolts, do not over tighten. I attempted to close the gap by tightening down on the bolt and ended up stripping one of the security bolts. Luckily, I had a spare.

    RCI Skid Plate:

In order to tighten the bolts that connect the front cat plate to the rear of the RCI skid plat was a task. I could easily get my hand up there through the lower A arm and easily tightened the passenger side bolt. But, oh my Lord, the driver side bolt drove me nuts. I easily reached the bolt, tut the position the wrench had to be and position for leverage was to say the least, challenging.

    Final Result:

    The final outcome looks likes:

So, now I'm able to rest a bit easier knowing I have at least a deterrent in place for my cats.

    @Classy63
Have you heard of many issues with “clatter” between the front & rear plates? If so what do you think of Bayrunners tape solution in post#1864?
Also, I ordered 1 set of pentabolts for the front & rear 3/16 aluminum plates on order, do I need 2 sets?
    Thanks, Randall

Got my black powdercoated front and rear plates today w/ hex bolt kit. Ordered Barnes 4WD washers and neoprene rubber (to deal with any chatter) today. Also, got my AMI locking fuel door this past week…lot’s to install but will keep the Tundra safe :)

The only time I have had heard of “chatter” or noise is when the rear cat plate is hitting the transfer case/skid plate or the plates not being tightened up enough.

So my “new” Z brackets will have issues? Should I wait for newer Z brackets before I install?

Its really not a big deal. Just stick some washers between the z bracket and the rear plate. You’re not loosing anything. Finally found a use for all those extra washers I’ve had laying in the “extra” hardware bin since forever. :)

You could be right but I just didn’t want to take the chance. Plus, it’s an easy, cheap and logical mod to add. It’s a good idea to add a rubber cushion between 2 large plates of metal that overlap.
