Almost done the patio. Just waiting on the grass to grow in. and building the stairs. I'm putting down Ipe for the treads in a herringbone pattern rather than 45's in the corners. Got the nice big table that seats 10 as well! Outdoor space is coming together!IMG_6421.jpgIMG_6418.jpg IMG_6444.jpg

Got zapped unugging the pool filter yesterday so cut a foot off the wire, re ran to new spot on deck and wired a new outlet for it.
Bought a cheap rotary hammer drill from HF and have been working on installing my chimney liner for the wood stove in the basement. Between needing to knock out some concrete, cut down the T body of the kit and some mason work, I don't need a fire to stay warm LOL

Redoing the cold air returns in my house. They leak and are filled with nicotine smoke dust bunnies.
Cleaning, painting with Zinsser CoverStain and putting up ThermoPan to make my life easier. Found one of the headers that are metal that had a newspaper printed on the back??? Couldn’t find a date but it’s weird nonetheless.

I replaced parking stops in the garage today.
Wife's newer Caddy doesn't the the front sensor warning her old Caddy had.
She doesn't have the patience to feel the small hump to stop pulling into the garage before hitting the workbench..

    So I ordered and installed a bigger 6' 4"stop.
18" longer than the 3 short ones that have worked for 4 years..
Put screws up into from the bottom to hold it to the rubber mat.
I think this might hold her...:eek2::thumbsup:

Not trying to get political....AT ALL!
But if there's such a big push for electric vehicles, renewable energy, etc....then how come the tax credit on solar panels is dropping each year and is supposed to be eradicated by 2030? We couldn't quite swing it for sure when building because it was the last year they were doing the 80% tax credit, but it was up in the air since it was a first come first serve. So we would have possibly ended up still paying for about 50% of a $20k system. Even 2 of 3 companies said installing solar on your own dollar would take so long to get it back, they wouldn't do it! They're selling it, and wouldn't suggest it if they weren't getting the full 80% credit! I keep thinking with all this new energy stuff being pushed, that'd we'd see the tax credits on these come back or go up. They're only offering a 26% credit right now from what I've read.
Just curious and wanting to know if anyone knows for sure what's up?
Again...let's not let this get political AT ALL....I enjoy this thread too much to have it get shut down!:D

I believe it's a do it now and save more idea to push people to getting it sooner vs later. Might not be that simple but really the only reason I can think of.

Commercially - I work with a lot of energy conservation around lighting and it has to do with the "pool" of money the utilities set aside so you see the rebates decrease but that's more rebates vs tax incentives. It also has to do with larger utilities shutting down power plants so they need to decrease the consumption amount by that power plants production...

I have no basis for this so take it as you will.

Typically it would be to get the industry rolling and help out early adopters while the tech was honed and manufacturing costs dropped. Similar to most other tech where 10 to 20 years can mean a significant drop in costs.

I tend to agree with both of you. The early push and tax incentive was to help mainstream it and get a big push on it. The costs of them are lower now. I think I saw a system that was going to cost me around 20k is around 10k now. Technology may be better now too. IDK about that for sure though....like most things.

Figured out I can fit my CM, my wife’s van AND my mower all in the garage.

It’s a tight fit LOL but it fits LOL.
    Ummm I back it in!!!
I have a fenced in back yard and hate opening the gate. It too big and too heavy and don’t want it to break.

Eventually I will add a garage door so it’s a pass thru garage.

I hope your house build is coming along nicely. Here are the two detail areas I was curious about. These are areas that I’m always cautious of potential water leaks or water drainage problems. You have a beautiful house and I’m sure your excited to see it completed.

I didn't do anything but the tile guys finished our backsplash so the kitchen reno is officially complete.

Yes, the backsplash goes higher than normal but we had to rip out the sheetrock there from the old backsplash and I wasn't interested in trying to finish the new drywall. Some may not like it but it doesn't bother me.

I like it. When we did our countertops I had and extra piece of granite and extended the backsplash all the way to the cabinets behind the stove.
