So after much thinking about plastic dipping, I've decided instead to remove all the badges as well as the TRD decals. I see no problem with using fishing line to remove badges. I would like some suggestion as to removing the TRD stickers on rear bed quarters.

Hey Bill... Welcome to the site! Where about in WI are you? I've lived there 40 years, I'm now in AZ for past 5. I was in New Berlin 11 years prior to moving. I graduated from Antigo High in 88.

So to your question, I'll be doing the same thing probably on Tuesday. After watching several YouTube videos, I'm thinking the heat gun will work best and a set of plyers for badges, be careful pulling though! And heat gun with small pick or pin to start the corner pullup of decal. Here's the video I found most useful. (note: although lenghtly, very informational) Good Luck.

On my last Tundra, I used a blow dryer and gently waved it over the decal - which allowed me to peel it off.

Heat gun is fine, just don't sit in one spot. If it's getting uncomfortably hot to the touch, you're probably getting things too hot, at least in my experience

Has anyone had any "ghosting" issues? I wanna debage the whole rig, but heard some bad stories about ghosting. Especially in 2nd Gens.

I actually debadged my truck last week. All I used was a standard plyers to pull off the TUNDRA stamps and 4X4 tailgate stamp, a small 90 degree pick to start, and flat head screwdriver for 5.7L badges. Finger roll the adhesive away. WD40 to remove adhesive reside. Any ghosting and final reside can be removed by using a rubbing compound/polish (lots of elbow grease/several applications)

Ok. Thanks for that. I was gonna try the hair dryer and fishing line trick. Good to know about the WD40. It didn't do any harm to your paint?

I would say the hair dryer / fishing line and the WD 40 are two different stages of removing the badges/stickers.
Use the dryer and fishing line to get the badges off, or just the dryer for the stickers, and then use the WD 40 to get the glue residue off. The WD 40 will not do much if the sticker is still on the truck.

I rolled the residue off with my fingers, and then used "Goo Gone" to get it all off. No ghosting.

@Sean266 , and paint issues with the Goo-Gone? That was my 1st choice.

Not much to see with debadging, but I like the look. Gives the appearance of more color... Makes the canvas seem bigger!

The 3M Adhesive eraser wheel was worth all $44.
Removed emblems with plastic detailing tools, and removed two sided tape underneath with wheel. No hair dryer no shadows.
Used hair dryer to get the red and black TRD Pro decals off, and eraser wheel for residue.

You don't say what color your truck is. Some colors are more susceptible (dark colors) to ghosting than others. You won't really know until you remove a decal (hair dryer, heat lamp, goo gone, WD-40 etc). You can always replace the decal if the ghosting is more obvious than you expect. FWIW.....last year, the "Tundra" badge on my left front door(14 year old truck) became "detached" after going through a carwash. The 3M attaching tape was still on the door. I used WD-40, Goo gone, an eraser wheel, lots of rubbing.......anyway, as the tape residue came off the door, so did the underlying paint finish. I ended up ordering new badges and replacing instead of removing. (the badge on the right front door came off with just a slight "tug" with my fingers)

    Super white.
Probably could get away with no shadowing even after many years, but every thing I’ve read says the longer you wait the more susceptible it is to shadowing. Darker vehicle probably can’t wait too long to take them off of that is the look someone wants.
The eraser tool was just really nice compared to the gooey mess that comes with wd40 or goo gone. At least in my experience.
