WABDR Section 4 Trip report October 24-25

Hell of a trip. What we thought wasn't going to be much snow turned into 5-8 inches in the higher elevations and the NF roads and trails covered in snow everywhere. The tundra performed better than I expected when I first saw how much snow there was. Section 4 is 104 miles total with about 85 of it being dirt and gravel roads. This time, not much gravel and just all snow and ice. Some roads down lower were packed down by hunters vehicles. Up high not much. We didn't really see anybody going from Cashmere to Ardenvoir, but saw a good amount of vehicles and people from Ardenvoir plus 20 miles. After that not much again. Here's some pics!

Couple of fun mud holes in the section from Cashmere to Ardenvoir

Lots of snow on the trail at higher elevations

The night of the 24th we camped over Lake Chelan. It was an awesome spot, but super cold getting down to 10 degrees.

All in all it was a really fun trip and I'm ready to do the other sections.

Side note: It's not a tundra or even a toyota, but gladiators are extremely capable vehicles. My buddies is on 37's and a 3" lift. His only downfall was his tires not being great in snow. Other than that it was really cool to watch.

This looks like a great trip. I’m looking forward to doing sections of the WA BDR as well.
Did you run into any sections where you needed your sliders?
