I mean, you could also just manually turn auto-dim off using the supplied button every time you go to reverse in the dark, I suppose. I don't plan on hooking mine up.

Yeah, I might follow the trailer harness taps since they already are sucking blood with vampire taps and then decide. Good to know what the functional difference is.

Howdy howdy, so do I. I never used the OEM links with my Kings so I can't comment on how they work on stock links. Limit straps would be nice so each corner can do it's own thing offroad without maxing out components.

Here's a view of my stretch with sway bar links:

Do you have the 650 or 700 lb coils? Mine seem way stiffer with 700lbs and stock sway bar set up, with full armor but no winch yet.
That a dirt road or what? Do you know your speed?

Also which shocks did you have that separated in two?

In the video it's a desert wash and I'm going 45-50. I have 650lb coils right now and they're pretty plush. I'll be giving 700lb coils a shot on them eventually along with different valving.

It was a Toytec 2.0 that separated in two with a 700lb Eibach coil. Cheapo rebranded shock IMO.

Hmmm...definitely contact them. Where did you buy them? You might also want to check for "authenticity".

    Not yet doing, but pondering.

when i do the suspension on my truck is the diff drop worth it? I plan on the same sorta leveling setup everyone else wants. Springs, shocks, ucas, bushings, etc… probably do the needle bearing bushings. I know the diff drop isnt necessary, but would that extra half inch save any cv wear? It doesnt look like it will put the diff in any extra danger? Are there any cons aside from time?

I haven't heard anyone complain that it hasn't helped, plus it isn't that expensive for our truck if it's only 2-3 inches.

I guess nows a great time to ask.

im willing to keep things greased. With weekly attention, how long will a uniball last?

Anyone have that link about maximum caster?

to use the junk ive got and make 2” longer suspension work, or SAS and widebody ford rear making a t-350.

is it socially irresponsible to bypass the crumplezones?

how do you ethically protect an osterich leather interior from protestors?

If someone were to tune motorcycle carbs to run a 1uz or 3uz, is the would the vvti be controllable for a ms or holley efi?

How can you even tell it's ostrich leather by just looking at it?

I almost bought some distressed ostrich leather cowboy boots back in the day when they were $300/pair but I've got that goddamn heel slip thing going on that requires they be custom made, or at least I was told.

If you’re lookin for attention, wrap em in human skin, that’ll turn some heads (do not do this)
Not until you hit somebody I guess. I hacked mine off at the crossmember when I built my bumper, cuz they were in my way and I think skid plates are pointless when they’re vertical. If you think about it, it’s probably better to skip over a small car than smash into the back of it, so my truck is actually safer without crumple zones.

I drove it to work tonight, does that count? It sits too much. I haven't become as familiar with the truck as I'd like due to work but I have to say that I really like the smooth, linear power delivery of the 4.7l. Typical Toyota. And the shifting of the trans is really smooth even under (relatively) hard acceleration. Haven't really gotten on it yet, unfortunately. Once the new leafs are under it in a few days and the driveshaft comes back from the shop with new Spicers I'll know a little more. I'm sure the U-joints are the originals and after 20+ yrs of desert heat I don't want to push them too hard. The 2WD version of this truck does pull nicely though. I obviously frustrated an Escalade driver and F-250 driver at a light without really trying. Haha!

Changed the transmission fluid and filter, filter kit came with a pan gasket whereas it previously had RTV for a gasket. Took my time cleaning the pan and mounting surface, looked good inside, typical metallic swirl at the bottom of the pan. Used Valvoline MaxLife ATF.

Also sealed up the cowl clips since I found a little water on the passenger side floormat last week. It seems like we've gotten more rain here in the past couple of months that the past couple of years combined so I went for it.

Took a cross-country trip to join in memorializing my Mother who passed away in December at the age of 96 (not covid, natural causes). Went to the U.P. (Yoop) of MI where I own a lake house property with three other siblings. Stayed there for a week. Tundra performed flawlessly! So much more comfy on long trips than my Wrangler... and about the same on gas mileage. Got lots of compliments at gas stations and from family. Glad I fixed this old jalopy up and made er road worthy, very road worthy... on and off. Oil looks clean as honey and I don't think I lost a drop. Thanks to everyone at this forum and special thanks to Heather.
    Numbers:
    Total Spent On Gas: $525
Avg Gas Price Paid: $3.15 per gal - highest $3.67 (Colorado), lowest $2.90 (Iowa)
    Total Trip Miles: 2522
Not sure what that calculates to for MPG but probably not good. Lots of miles at 80mph with AC blasting.

If my calculations are correct I was getting a little over 15MPG. Not bad considering lift/larger tires with no regear... 80MPH with cruise and AC blasting. I can live with that.

So I did some research on lights today. Looks like we can get OEM taillights and CHMSL but not headlights? And if going aftermarket on headlights then may as well save and go aftermarket tails?

I might try a headlight restore to start.

    What I've found:

    Combo heads & tails
    Tails only
    darker heads

Is it safe to assume the OEM reflectors, even 20 years old, would outperform aftermarket? Assuming clean / restored lenses?

I bought some of those today. Not oem, wasn't willing to spend $300 but just some depo ones. I noticed with the 05-06 tails, it makes the bed look shorter as with the 00-04 taillights have a lot of bezel on them.

Consider yourself lucky. My last fill-up was $4.45/gallon. I was on empty too; so that felt like a punch to the stomach.
