Made my first ever insurance claim today at 40 yesterday old. Didn't see the 18 inch tree stump while turning left in the yard. How bad is it ya think? The rocker panel is undamaged.20210821_154600.jpg

Maybe a New door. Once they paint will have to blend into fender.

100% a new door - there’s no way your getting that shell repaired.

Hard to tell on fender - looks like a couple of hours on the lower portion to me - but as mentioned you gotta blend in anyway.

$2000-2500 job not a big deal, but enough to turn in even with a 1k deductible.

You would be amazed what insurance companies would do not to put a new door.

Not so bad. Getting old ain't for sissies. Mine was $9200, $500 deductible. Replace the bedside, back door panel, step bar, RR axle and axle housing. Also minor fiberglass repair to the shell. I'm going to the body shop next week to see what it will cost to line x the rear bumper and repaint the hitch receiver. They have to come off anyway. The insurance adjuster said he has to assign responsibility, no ticket was issued. I said I understand, your job is to take as much of my money as you can, and never give any back. He just moved on to the next subject on his checklist.

I drove backwards in my driveway and smashed my driver's door backwards. No damage to any other panel, came out to 3200 for new door and paint match.

Repair fender, replace door, blend rear door. The pisser is the junk used door your insurance will probably want to use. You’ve got the option to pay the difference for a new oem part. OR if the body shop is full of hard chargers they’ll have negotiated discounts with vendors that will allow them to use quality stuff despite your ins company. Also the quality of the product used/ skill of the person applying the chip guard on the lower portion of the panels. Coming up short there will get ugly down the road. I’d take the money for the step bars honey sold in pairs) and apply it to some sliders for actual protection. You ain’t getting any younger ;)

Well, that sucks! Sorry. But, if it helps at all, I did the same thing on my wife's vehicle once when repositioning the camper for no good reason at all. I got hung up on a rock about the same size. We still have the dent to remind me that I'm not very bright.

It's hard to tell if sliders would have helped, but here is what RCI's looks like on my CM for what it's worth. About the cost of your deductible, I would imagine.

It does suck. And on top of that I have to drive a mini van until the 13th.

Don’t feel too bad op. Years ago I backed my lifted super duty into a parking spot at the hospital. When I went to leave hours later, I made a hard right out of the spot since it was the last spot in the row. The problem is there was a 4’ wall right there. Luckily my truck was white and plenty of people had beds for sale from installing flat beds. $350 and a few hours of my labor was all that I needed.
