So Are you happy with your stock brake system or are you looking to upgrade? I've been talking about possibilities of a new tundra brake kit, direct bolt on, it would be superior to what is on the market yet it will be at a competitive price. It would most likely fit on factory 18" wheels. 28 pistons of stopping power coming from the 10 stock, could even be managed to go up to 32 if you put 8 in the back. prices can be around 1300 for the front and 1100 for the back, again this is just some rough ideas to gauge interest. Company who is considering the production is SSBCUSA bit.ly/37xeiAZ. They're a high quality company that make a really good product, also American made!! They've had a great experience with the big 3 and wanted to check out the tundra market! What do you guys think?

might want to hold back on it, if this ssbc gets enough interest you'll get a better product for the money

    That’s what I’m hoping.
I would much rather have the SSBC.

No intent to throw cold water on your project, but, the stone stock braking system on my Tundra has been more than sufficient for my driving needs. I'm not sure what driving conditions I would need to encounter to justify spending a couple grand on a brake upgrade. (I have towed an RV from the mid-west to the west coast several times, and the braking performance has been exceptional). Having said that, the aftermarket is offers huge opportunities for products that exceed OE performance specs, and your brake system just might be the niche product that Tundra drivers are looking for.

No doubt stock is amazing compared to competitors, in every way it out performs and lasts longer, this if for a niche market that is into these kits, it is something I'm willing to pick up if enough are interested, just trying to contribute to the community through more public info

    Not nearly enough room here!
My stock brakes have 85,000 miles on them on my 2010 SR5. My Mechanic tells me I'll see closer to 100,000 miles on 'em. Can't see going aftermarket unless Toyota's bean counters worked their "magic", like they have in the past.

I used to go through brakes pretty quickly on previous vehicles, but I don't think I will be using them as much now that out of Seattle (the kid's nursery rhyme was "Zoom down the freeway, zoom down the freeway... Stop!"

Nonetheless another option is always good.

Interesting? last time I looked at this which was a few hours ago, there was a check box that said stock units are fine or something to that effect.
It's gone now, could you expand on this?

    Are you asking me?

    I didn’t create the threads.

looks like one in 2nd gen, one in 3rd gen.

That makes sense but there is no difference between them in brake design.
    Just sayin, nothing personal.

No difference at all, just figured some people might not comment their ideas because it was posted to one gen and not the other, wanted to get the most opinion on it, 3rd gen had a lot more traction a lot of interesting information on here too though
