Nice. Wish I could do another trip for that length of time.

It is definitely addicting. I was thinking about the memories a lot last night and realized those were the happiest days of my life so far. But I'm starting pt. 2 again to Maine in September, so I figure that will be even better memories. Hope you get out there soon man

Very cool. Enjoy it. When I was in middle school (80's) my mom took us two boys on a 10 week trip across the rocky mountains (WA, OR, ID, MT, NV, UT, AZ, CA) and ND, MN, WI, TN, OK. We sought out old ghost towns (many of them no longer exist today), hit national parks, national monuments, state parks, cool local stuff, and I don't know how my mom got that car up some of the trails/roads that the majority of people today would not attempt without AWD/4WD, but she was fearless. We only spent 7 days total under a roof, all the rest were in a tent.
That was a long, long time ago. And to this day it is still one of the most relevant things that I vividly remember. Was one of the best times/memories. So I can totally relate to what you are feeling.

Maine...ah man I have been talking about Maine for years. Going out for a long trip, want to go to Eastport Maine and see the 25' tides and Old Sow (natural whirlpool). That is just awesome that you are going to do that also!!

On thing with Maine (my parents have friends that live there). Ticks are a real issue, deer ticks, wood ticks, etc. and lots of them (the Moose have a real issue with them). Be careful :)

How often are you able to get online when on your trips?

Oh man thanks for the tick info, and the tide/whirlpool. Didn’t even know that stuff existed. As for internet, that last trek (75 days), I spent maybe 6 days without cell? Mostly northern Idaho and New Mexico mountains. When I travel I really want to have cell service since I’m solo. If not, I do have a garmin Inreach that I used a few times.

Something I want to include if anyone is reading this in the future, I made one modification to the tent and some routine maintenance. The plastic around the stitching tends to come off over time. I superglue it back on when that happens, could probably fix it many other ways. As for the mod, the tent does really need a bit of extra cushion. I put a foam topper on top when I bought the tent and that took it from camping to literally as comfortable as my bed. 163081B7-6D89-4383-BE11-ED735D2D4B2B.jpg
