With respect to your Tundra (CrewMax or Double Cab) has anyone found that they prefer one modular toolbox brand/system over the other as to how they fit in either the rear floor of the cab or in the box under a tonneau? Other scenarios?

All feedback/comments welcome, including any other brand you find works well with your setup.

I would love to try the Milwaukee boxes but there is just no way I am going to pay the extra money for them over the Dewalt which I have used for years and work well.

We argue/discuss this all the time on Job Sites and no one really ever changes their mind either.

They are just stupid pricey and though slicker maybe in the way they attach and stack also sometimes harder to get working freely as well, again compared to the Dewalt and Rigid both of which are better I think for the simple mechanism there.
There are a lot more options with Milwaukee but each of them is just insanely high priced to me.

I had my AC System replaced last week and the AC guy had a new Sprinter full of Milwaukee Packout and I was in there rifling through it with him and it was almost completely empty because it is such a pain to remove from the truck he says.

I'm all in on Makita cordless, but I find the systainer system they have emulated with the Makita boxes to be a little too brittle of plastic for my taste, however functional they are. Cracked two already with moderate usage. Love my Makitas though. Right now I have a bunch of buckets and random toolboxes and with the new truck purchase am looking to upgrade modular tool storage as well. One thing at a time.

Ridgid is my next choice, Milwaukee is too expensive, dewalt have too many systems within.

The Ridgid Pro Box system is a very, very practical choice with excellent water resistance I hear.
I don't know much about the DeWalt system(s).
Milwaukee sure is proud of their red plastic but I appreciate the design that goes into their system. $$$.

I'll rather get the festool saws before I invest in the milwaukee boxes.

I have trashed a Dewalt system using it doing commercial construction, lid and box warped and fit poorly after taking it in and out of the truck for years. The Milwaukee system is nice, but way too much money for what it is, their tools are awesome, but that box is taxed. I run the Rigid pro boxes on my roof rack as permanently installed setups. They are waterproof and cost effective, the stacking mechanism works well. I actually use 4 of the small boxes and 4 of the mediums on my roof for all my camping and recovery gear. They stay locked together, even bouncing around 4 wheeling and tossing the truck around. The Rigids would be my vote. They are also slightly softer plastic then the others, and more likely to just get scratched instead of cracking if you abuse them.

Dewalt has like 4 separate systems they have tried to produce over the years. I had the tough box system with dolley. The dolley was stout AF, boxes broke carrying my auto tools all over the place, maybe got 9 months out of them before handles broke off completely. I now have packout and these things are amazing. Dropped one off the tailgate with 80 pounds of tools in it and barely scratched the corner on it, my Dewalt would have shattered like glass. My vote is for packout, more expensive yes, but you get what you pay for and they keep coming out with more options for boxes and accessories. I have the large box with built in dolley, 4 large boxes, 2 half boxes, cooler, 2 half organizer container and 1 large organizer container, the large packout toolbag, and of course the radio. Nothing has broken yet and I use them daily.
