Sweeeeeet! Nice to hear that worked with the cheater moves you pulled.

I'm still daydreaming of swapping to long tubes and if my smog guy sees them just point at my JBA carb sticker. I doubt he will crawl under the truck to match a part number but I would have to keep cats involved.

Still a few things left to do: polyurethane steering rack bushings (weren't able to have them in time for the rack install), spark plugs and chase down the exhaust leak. We figure the exhaust leak is in the manifold. The mechanic will get into that in a month or so when I have time to get the truck in again. If it's the manifold gasket, that's easy. If it's a cracked manifold we'll take a hard look at just doing headers.

Yeah they didn’t even pull out the mirror or nothing. I’ll be pulling them back off tonight, haha I didn’t sleep and parked my truck UP in the yard last night

Tossed some new to me 4600's in, thanks to @Jcross0304.

Didn't even need to make any adjustments after I was done, it checked good on the alignment rack after installing.

Just picked the truck up from having the SPC UCA's installed and alignment done at State 48 Overland and I am definitely impressed and very satisfied with both the SPC UCA's and State 48's skills. The truck tracks, drives, handles and feels significantly better. The alignment is dead-nuts on. No wandering, no pull, no nothing. All the feel is at the wheel. The tech, Darin, did an outstanding job and I can't say enough good things about him and Erick. If you live in Az or the greater Phoenix area and have not been able to find a place to solve your alignment issues, consider giving them a call. I obviously can't guarantee the same results but I can tell you I'm glad I listened to those here on the forum and elsewhere that spoke highly of them.

@assassin10000 , I was able to run up on ramps and take a look at things. I'm not that qualified to say but it appears he did not touch the front cam/cam plates. I forgot to take the skid plate off, so can not say if he did. I don't think he did and possibly all I got was a "Toe and Go" that I have seen @Darkness mention on other occasions. The Cam bushing ends that I could see tells me I will need to look over front suspension closer this fall for whatever needs replacing. Only fnt suspension replacements I've done or had done was LH/RH Drive Shafts and SSC -70B Fnt LBJ's.

I concur, it doesn't look like they touched the cams. Probably spun the tie rods and said good enough. I despise alignment shops that work that way.

This was a Gateway Tire I have used many times over the years up the road from me in Corinth, MS. Have been pleased and will reserve judgement until I talk with the Mgr first of next week that test drove it and told me it felt good but had a slight pull to right. Since then(last week), I have driven enough straight flat roads to know I don't like it and it was better before alignment. I will be showing him pics and decide this fall after surveying what I need to change before worrying about alignment. If he offers to do it again free properly, may let them but with understanding free alignment again in fall after parts replacement. Simply don't want to ruin Toyo Open Country I bought from them also at same time....grrrr !

I hear you on that. As expensive as tires are the last thing you need is a lazy alignment tech to mess them up.

It's interesting with the "Toe and Go" as a lot of shops around here are like that. What blows my mind are these so called "Free alignment check" places where regardless of whether you just got an alignment down the street 5 minutes ago, they'll still find something slightly out of alignment and charge you to bring it back in since no one ever has ever gotten a so called "free alignment check" that passed.

Installed the mother Russia door check repair kit, heard about the Camry checks that were reportedly working, but a vehicle specific repair kit seemed a better bet than a new part for a different vehicle to me. Kit is awesome. Very simple and cheap repair. Sometimes you don’t realize how fukt stuff is until you make it new again. Then you say, “why did I wait so long…..”

Today I got my driveshaft back from the shop with the “new” to me slip yoke. So purty
    EB7E69B2-38EC-4C0F-9462-70E17DEB2B5B.jpg

I figured now is as good as time as any to replace the seal on my leaking transfer case. Question, I feel like I can remove the cover(closest to driveshaft) without removing the transfer case actuator or the portion that connects to the driveshaft. Seems like all I need to do is remove the wiring and should be able to take the face of transfer case off.

Am I right? Haven’t had much luck finding a write up or YouTube vid on this. Any input is appreciated!

@Sunnier you mentioned you replaced yours, what do you think of my plan?

    thanks all!

It started sticking in the shaft when I would come to a stop and bump out as soon as I’d take my foot off the brake. To the point the rear end cap of the yoke got pushed out on one side and grease would come out of it. I had to grease it constantly to ride smoothly.

Ahh. Mine feels like it’s sloppy and I’m wondering if it’s my vibration. I don’t get the jerking when stopped though.

I replaced the front transfer case seal, but that only involved disconnecting the back of the front drive shaft (4x4), moving it forward, and holding it out of the way, which I did with a ratchet strap. I was able to “unstake” the staked nut using a hammer and tiny flat tipped screwdriver (broke it), removed it, replaced the seal, put in a new nut (kept the old one as a spare) but had so little room to pound the nut to stake it, that I bought the actual stake nut tool. The limited access to swing a hammer was due to the position of the nut in relation to the frame crossmember.

You outing in that shiny new driveshaft = dealing with wires and what-not that I didn’t deal with. And I’m not very experienced mechanically, so I can’t weigh in on your plan except to be detailed about what I did. I’m sorry I’m not more helpful.

Thanks, I’m starting to feel like this is something I can live with lol. I asked 2 mechanic friends just now who both said the same thing, need to remove the transfer case to replace the seal cause there are bearings and whatnot being held in place by the part I need to remove to replace the seal.

It’s not leaking too much, I’ll just top it off every now and then. Thanks ier
