In comparing the diagram you have listed and the links above I'm assuming the pins get wired as so:

87: to flasher module inside the cab
86: to blue wire of controller
    85: to ground
    30: to ground

Unless I have it backwards again. Pretty sure that's right though.

Yes. that should work. When comparing against the schematic, pins 85 and 86, are the coil terminals. Pins 30 and 87 are the switching terminals.

Ok. Just to clarify flasher pins 2 and 8 both get a blue wired with a diode soldered in their path. That same blue wire basically "Y"'s off and one leg also goes to the SPST relay? does the leg going to the SPST need the diode output as well?

The non-line ends of the diode go to pin 2 and pin 8 of the flasher module. The line end of each diode goes to the blue wires on the lane-changer module. Those same blue wires 'y' off and go to the relay. No other connection to the diodes is required.

Got it. I'll build the harness up and post a pic to make sure I have it right.

Well here it is. I had to adapt and overcome since I didn't want to desolder the diodes so I just use a tap connector before it to run to the other flasher pins.

Heh. No way in hell I'm gonna look at that picture and tell you whether or not you got it all right. CYA and all that.

I can only say that if it matches the schematic exactly, and you wire it to the correct flasher pins, that it will work.

Let us know how it goes.

Well it didn't work. Left turn signal just blinked as normal. Right turned the hazards on.

I did take a quick look at your wiring harness and it does not match the schematic. The blue wires from the lane-changer module should go directly to the relay coils. Your harness has them going through the diodes. That will not work.

Oh wow. Yeah I see it now. So put the diode on the leg of wires going to pins 2 and 8. Remove it from being inline to the relays. Right? Line end of diode towards the controller. Non line end towards the flasher.

Tried this module on my 2017 SR5 Tundra with no luck. Blinkers functioned like they should but for some reason the module didn’t make the blinker flash multiple times. The company Kahtec and I troubleshot the module and verified it was hooked up correctly. They are providing a refund. If anyone else has done this and I am missing something please let me know.

I haven't had issues 'yet' with my Kahtec but I pulled my "hot" from the battery. The countless times I screw
-up something like this, it's usually a wire that looks like it's connected well but isn't.

Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate it. I tried both, power from the battery and fuse tapping the box. Kahtec said you know it’s connected properly if the blinker lights flash when power is applied. My driver side blinker then just shortly after my passenger side. I’m bummed but they said they would refund me.

So this is definitely one thing I miss from our other, more current vehicles (2019 Ioniq, 2018 Tucson, 2017 Highlander). I'm looking at the module, but wondering if anyone has looked into pulling this from a current Tundra that has it and seeing if it's plug and play or an easy adaptation to an older model?

Soooooo....a bit of research led me here: https://www.amazon.com/SmartTap-CF1...e+blinker&qid=1572007728&s=automotive&sr=1-26

A little more expensive, but plug and play...with one caveat listed: NOTE: For Toyota trucks, this flasher is only compatible with trim levels that do not feature Daytime Running Lights (non-DTRL).

I'm guessing someone smarter than me with this sort of thing would be able to figure out a way to use this though?

I am not sure it is a module, I just know that my Tundra has it. You would need to get a wiring diagram of the turn signal circuit and see if it wires to a module then the search will begin

Even having this module from Kaytec,I still find myself just lifting or holding down my signal stalk for lane-changes and turns, instead of 'engaging' the signal completely:rolleyes:

Is that because it doesn't work or out of habit? If it's habit...I've got the opposite issue. The ever-popular one-blink lane change!

Out of habit. I normally hold or lift the stalk for 3-4 flashes just to inform others of my intentions. Contrary to what I see much of the time, I'll signal BEFORE entering 'Turn Only' lanes and I won't sit in a line at a light with a signal flashing (it NEVER helps the light change sooner!):D

So this doesn't seem terribly difficult...but I'd need to figure out what type of turn signal our trucks actually have (that would determine which version to build) and then if it's possible to keep the DRLs working properly at the same time (I'd guess it is, but I don't see a version where this is addressed).

Hmmm...I think I missed the important part here: did that module actually work for you? With the DRLs?
