We did look at the Highlander briefly but it's bigger than she wanted. The KIA was a 7 seater. She's ok with downsizing a bit.

We’ve had several for the wife and kids. No complaints. Remains one of my wife’s favorite rides. I found them to be a bit noisy on the freeway and go cart like, but very reliable economical cars to own. The 4 cylinder has ample power, we purposely avoided the 6 cylinder after driving one, too much power for my son imo. Not sure if the 6 is still offered, but the one I test drove flew.

Wife has a 2016 hybrid and my dad has a 2020. Seem to be pretty bulletproof - the hybrid is awd, has 75000 miles and not one issue. Dads is basically brand née but I like the interior better. Literally the only complaint is my wife got the gray cloth interior and no joke - ANYTHING stains it. Sweat = stain. If you wear sunscreen = stain. Dogs = stain. Spilled water = stain. I have shampooed the interior at least half a dozen times……get leather / softex if you get one. Or at least stay far away from the gray interior

We just picked up a 2021 Highlander Limited in June and I really enjoy that car. It has the 12” navigation screen, birds eye view camera and many other features. We are very happy with it!

2019 XSE hybrid.. Bought it new and have 38,000 miles on it..The power with the hybrid is surprising, find one and put the pedal to the floor, it pulls pretty hard all the way to the governor, far better than the ICE model we test drove. The only problem Was the funky fuel tank like 5 gallon reserve with a 14.5 gallon tank! But Toyota did fix it no charge. The eAWD is excellent, best handling car I’ve ever driven on shitty snowy and icy roads! Off-roading just over 8 inches of ground clearance…so we don’t venture to far? MPG is as advertised 38-42 is not difficult to achieve. After a short time I got used to the eCVT and to be honest prefer it over traditional transmissions! The JBL stereo is leaps and bounds better than the Tundra JBL!
My only real complaint is road noise. It’s not bad, but for $36,000 should be better? Ill eventually put sound deadening in the doors..for comparison I’d say it’s about the same as my 2013 Tundra before I put sound deadening in the doors and behind the rear seats. Ditching the factory tires also helped..

We had a 2013 XLE, foolishly sold when briefly leased a Sienna. It was great: impeccable reliability up to 100k (when sold), fantastic mileage, lots of room in the back for activities. It drove nice, easy to park downtown, had that firm yet dampening suspension that doesn’t make you queasy floating. It was also [insert shame] much better in winter conditions than my truck (other than really deep snow of course). Assenmacher oil filter cap from the Tundra fit it and same oil of course. The ultimate grocery getter, family friendly commuter. Not near as macho as big whitey but only real disadvantage is you can’t get three car seats in it- but as I found out that stage lasts about 5 minutes and I shouldn’t have been so impatient and just held on to it. No direct experience with the new models, brother’s gf has one and they quite like it.

just sold my tundra to get a new XSE. the few i've driven were great on road. they're way less feminine than they were previously which is what turned my wife on to them; we didn't want a little mosquito car. the Hybrid tranny is awesome and super smooth. can't wait to get mine!

Yeah looking for a smallish car that she could commute in , if need be in the future, that gets good gas mileage. She really wants the prime. The crazy thing is some dealers in the area have a 9k markup on them. Some in the area don’t. Just insane trying to buy a car right now. I’m not in a huge hurry…..but….we’ll see when the 22’s drop.

Wife had a 2010 V6, dead reliable and hilariously overpowered. She has an Odyssey now which is surprisingly great. The only current RAV I’d get is the Prime which seems awesome.

I’ve got a 21 xle, traded in an 08 Mazda 3. Happy with the RAV4 so far. Nothing really exceptional about it. Not as fun to drive as the mazda but it’s been a great little commuter for the 4 months I’ve had it.

2019 hybrid rav4. My knee always rests on a pointy spot on the door, maybe I am built weird. Road noise is noticible but fine, brakes are odd at slow speeds but sport mode seems to help, steering can be a bit strange at times, like it darts a bit under load (maybe its a front wheel drive thing)
Other than that, it is awesome and a tank in the winter.

I feel ya. All cars seem to bother my left knee resting on the door.

My wife got the Rav4 Prime and I must say that thing is fast af off the line. She is in love. The trick is to use the battery in the city and toss it to hybrid on the highway. It’s amazing.

They are all over here in the PNW. It's not uncommon to come out of a store and see two parked together. Toyota must be doing something right.
