    Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)!

I've never bought from Carmax so I don't know. Anytime I have bought used, though, I've always made sure a good mechanic did a thorough inspection for me.

Welcome from SoCal. Cam tower leak is about it, about the only semi-common achilles heel of the 5.7 that I know of. Just search it in the forum, good info here, doesn't seem to be a common prob, just a costly one. Something about a goofy robot at the factory not applying initial sealant evenly.

Flex fuel? there are some issues with that. I have one but will never put in e85 if I can help it.

    Welcome

Welcome from AZ. I have the exact same truck. Just look at maintenance and if you don't have a record just get it done yourself.
