While transporting 16’ decking boards through the rear window, I scuffed my dashboard because of my own stupidity. Like a moron, I didn’t wrap the board ends in a towel. How much would it cost to replace it? Don’t think I have any other options except look at the disaster I caused.

Probably a lot. Maybe just add a dashmat to cover it up? That might run you about $50?...

It will not be inexpensive. You would need to check with your local dealer or online, like sparksparts, to see how much the pad costs. I am going to guess it will be 600-800. Then the install labor would be crazy unless you want to do it yourself.

Where exactly is it scuffed up? Any pictures? If in the center cubby spot (if you're lucky) maybe add a rago dashmount. Others may have different ideas depending on the location.

If you can’t buff them out with a magic eraser or the like, try a heat gun on a low setting VERY CAREFULLY. Heat can get imperfections and small gouges out of textured plastic.

I’ll take a picture when I can but it’s a significant scuff. Prob about 12”x6”

Cheapest alternative might be a salvage yard. Probably not a lot of Tundras in them though.

Ughh, I doubt that'll buff out...I would just get myself a "nice" dash mat/cover and be done with it. Otherwise I can't see any way to fix that other than replacing it.

Yeah I’d just get a dash mat. :(
@RobertD and @Jim LE 1301 both have nice ones and might be able to give recommendations.

Leave it. It’s a not so subtle reminder and may save other pieces of your truck in the future.

When you look at something and think ‘does this need another tie down? naaaaaaaaa’
Then you get in the truck and see that dash.

With the way truck prices are, trade it in for more than you purchased it for and get a new truck.

Have you considered painting it? Others on this site have painted the chrome portions with some kind of paint. Why not other parts of the dash?

Normally you pull pieces out of the truck to paint them. This would be a pain to disassemble to remove to paint, and with the texture I doubt you could make the sides look similar without making them smooth. Either replace at that point if you have it removed, or just throw a dash mat over it. For ~$60, I'd just go the dashmat route and save the headache
