When I did my front brakes I did new calipers with them because I thought they were dragging. And didn’t really notice anything different after doing them. It feels like I may have a slight drag but pads are fine as far as I can tell. Are the rears more common to drag?

Which ditch lights do you have? Looks like BDs?
I'm torn between driving/combo and wide/cornering beam pattern for the ditch lights I'm about to get. Any help?

Only way to tell is to physically check the pads. I let the dealer do most of my work (I bought a couple of incredibly cheap maintenance packages - 5 services for $275) and they noticed the brakes. Sure enough, the pad was shot on the right rear. Bought the parts from @sparks for a great price and saved $1200 on parts and labor. I’m mechanically inclined, but too busy to do it in most cases. All the calipers had levels of degradation and rust. It was time. 137k on it.

Thanks. No I do not have steering wheel controls on the original steering wheel. I have to do some wiring changes to make the new ones work.

Got my Blackstone Oil Analysis back. 137k and going strong

I should mention I’ve owned this vehicle since 2016 and 80k. I don’t have the vehicles history but Ive replaced/modified/maintained this truck above and beyond schedule. It’s frame was replaced in 2019 and when it was apart I decided to fix everything I could for minimal cost. I bought a rear bed from Texas and had it Line-x sprayed top and bottom. All rust (Thanks NY) was replaced. SAI was done under warranty in 2020. New calipers on Saturday. Synthetic Oil changes every 5k. Katzkins red interior is next

Did you have the center painted black as well? Or did you leave it as it came?

It’s a constant work in progress my friend but I enjoy it.

As I was cruising around after the grill install I noticed my rear brakes hitting the wear indicator….next project new OEM rear rotors and pads

    EDIT: also spark plugs inbound

Just left it as it came…I will hit it with 303 on next wash cycle

Got the front windows matched to the oem rear privacy glass. Will be quite helpful in the East TX sun.

    Pretty damn good match.

That’s a pretty good looking bumper for a knock off lol does it function the same? By that I mean is it like the usual heavy metal ones? I say if it works the same a few bucks saved up doesn’t hurt

The finish isn’t heavy powder coated but for $300 it’s ok for me just spray paint touch up

it’s a little off in some places but that’s because i hit a deer and stuff was slightly tweaked

it even came with 4 fog lights LeD i have to install

it’s heavy just the winch plate was 75lbs

Replaced possibly/probably original spark plugs with OE stock. Eyeballed the gap and all seems a-ok. Plugs all looked as they should. Nothing alarming in the least.

    20210804_144226.jpg

Also did the first (of several needed) transmission drain and fills. Used Toyota WS ATF which I got a nice little discount on at the dealership. Got 5 quarts and only needed 4.

The leveling procedure went flawlessly and though it was nerve wracking to wait for the "go light" it was pretty straight forward.

I was between 1/2 and 2/3 of a quart low, and unlike the engine oil, was dark, nasty, and probably also original.

The delay in gear engagement on a cold start seems to be much improved. Has shifted like butter ever since picking her up 5ish-k ago, so cant really claim any other improvement.

    Only 147k...

The plugs were densos made in usa. Replacements are densos made in JP. I have no other evidence they are not original.

I used a stubby extension, a wobble-jaw, and an adapter to get the correct length on my plug socket. Gotta get around wiring loom and lines for various shit, so a good combo of socket adapters n such was very helpful.

First oil change looked like it could have come from the bottle, so I had high hopes for all of the other fluids. Transmission fluid has been the only let down, but well see if we can ween it off the bad stuff.

looks good. I would assume it is all mostly bolt on or? kind of new to the bumper swap vs the grille swap.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but the way that zero of the lines match up with this would eat away at my soul surely causing me to experience a burst aneurysm while driving and crash into a ditch.

Mostly. In addition to the bumper and fogs, you’ll need the 3rd gen’s impact bar (just the end pieces of the bar that bolt to the actual bumper), the 3rd gen’s splash shield that goes behind the fogs, and an h7 to h10 fog light adapter. Got that on Amazon for $7. I also used washers to space the bumper out 0.5 inches, but that’s optional

I don’t blame you lol. Not gonna lie I thought it would line up a little better; I even did the 1/2 in spacing on the impact bar. From certain angles it looks good though imo; I’m gonna roll with it for now since I already put the time and money into it. I’ll see about getting a real metal bumper down the road.3F2A06B4-0EF5-409C-AB8A-7731E2DFCE0B.jpg6F0BC418-4A2E-4375-A4F1-0E7B122FE22F.jpg

It's not that bad imo. As far as lines, only if you really looking for it.

I laughed big time with this because it sounds so familiar I can completely relate. Looking at the bumper a second time I can see the skid plate lip and the logic totally makes sense about it getting damaged if it was hit. I think that a nice skid plate will help that out and make everything look nicer too maybe some cooler tow hooks too. Did you put the lights on yet? Yellow pod lights would be sick too lol.

On a side note I’ve gotten bored with my tundra a bit since I have it pretty much where I’d want it so I just imagine on all your guys trucks :)

I’m trying to find a plate that would go on between the bumper and the gap but am not having any luck. If anybody sees something they think might work just tag me!

I haven’t installed the lights yet,but will do that when I have the time. They are white i believe, not yellow.

    It’s a process
