I saw the AJT design badge cover was discontinued for legal issues but I was really hoping to get my hands on one. Preferably an army green one. Anyone have connections or ideas? Thanks

You'll probably have to paint it. I bought one that was available but an off color and then painted to match my truck before install. Very happy with how it turned out.

What brand of paint did you use? Did you have to prime and clear coat it to? Thanks for the info

So I've done this 2 different ways. There is a local auto paint supply place I've used to custom mix aerosol cans to match the vehicle, but for interior stuff I've gotten away with using a Dupli-color Perfect Match paint but it was for a GM (they didn't have my blue for their Toyota selection...)

Many folks have used this company to order paint to their color code and I've heard good things. If I hadn't found my local shop I would have used them.

The emblem I bought was painted. So I scuffed the surface, I did 2 light coats of prime mainly so my color looked right, did a few coats of my color match, and then I did use a clear coat. For my interior stuff I have been using Rustoleum 2X paint and I really like their matte clear over their glossy clear for stuff like this.

They give it more grip i guess. Found this cover at my local dealer and have had it over 2 years and have been really happy. Its comfortable and I have no complaints.

Interesting. Does it make the steering wheel overly thick at all?

Nope, to me it feels better than the stock wheel. Also out here in Texas it helps the steering wheel not feel as hot after you leave your vehicle in the sun for hours.

That looks really good! It looks like I’m going to go that route. Thank you for all the info. And That badge just pops off of the steering wheel right?

So I bought an overlay that uses double sided tape to attach to the chrome emblem, so it could pop off I'd just need new tape.
You can remove the chrome emblem but I did not want to mess with the airbag. Here's a thread that discusses removing the actual emblem from steering wheel:
