Has anyone removed the cigarette plug and installed USB ports?

I installed one of these years ago. Got it from Sparks. Looks like they don’t have them on their site anymore.

I didn’t get rid of the cig plug, though obviously you can. I installed it on the other side of the back of the console.

Used a small hole saw, and just tapped it into the existing wiring of the cig plug. Easy.

    Lots o’ mods
Yes. Sourced my USB ports from Amazon. You’ll need to enlarge the mounting hole slightly once you remove the original 12-volt plug, but other than that it’s a straightforward swap. I’ve replaced both the ones in my dash and the rear seat one on the back of the console. No issues.

Do you just pry out/back towards back seat? Held in by yellow clips like the center console?
    TIA

You also might need to drill the hole larger.

Yeah, did the one in the console compartment and just used a knife to make it a tad bigger. I don’t think I’m gonna change the ones under the climate knobs. Don’t like cords cluttering that small space anyway, plus have one in the glove box already and the two in the compartment.
