2013 Sequoia Limited to TRD FAUX build now with BOOST!

Got up at 4, it was already 97, 105 in the garage. & it's humid so no work on the truck today. This is my idea of hell. A garage full of parts and an inability to install.

 

Time to install garage misters lol

 

Don't really want all of my stored stuff misted. Looking into a swamp cooler but the good ones are 500+ and it is easy to just wait.

Just r&rd the 20 lugs and am sweating my ass off.

Rear shocks are done.

First full use of the Sequoia, we loaded it up with six adults and two dogs, an 80lb Shepherd & a 60 pound Staffordshire. Everyone was comfortable, everything fit. I put a bag on the roof but bet I could have gotten it in back behind the 3rd row. It's surprising how much space there is back there.

Where did you get this radio from?

My '12 Tundra didn't come with a touchscreen media/radio face, the back-up cam is in the rear-view mirror... looking to get something I like and install it.

 

The radio is a Kenwood, I got it on eBay but they are available most places that sell them. I had the backup camera in the mirror in my Tundra and liked it there. I assume you can also have it show on the radio but didn't try in the Tundra.

 

I wanted a safer better jack, to carry in the Sequoia, I hoped there was someplace to put it, nope.

Have to get creative.

Yes, I'm hoping to install it today but am certain it fits.

 

Rear TRD sway bar is in, driveshaft had to come down. Dropped it on my face.

 

Very cool! So did you just disconnect the 4 bolts on the driveshaft right there where it crosses?

 

Yes, undid the 4 nuts, had to put the trick in neutral to turn the driveshaft and get to the other side.

I tried to do the springs. It seemed dangerous and I was getting pretty hot, it was 80 degrees & 85% humidity.

I need to figure out which parts of the control arms or what needs to come apart.

Forgot to post the TRD sway is making a huge difference. They should have come this way. Can't wait to do the rest of the suspension but it's been super hot or if not 111 then 90 & 80% humidity.

Next several weekends we are r&ring carpet in the bedrooms & installing new flooring to finish the final no carpet house deal.

So funny, I’m putting in laminate flooring in our whole first floor now……..just have bathroom and laundry room to finish…….that’s what’s holding back my suspension install!!!

Yes, door handles are stupid easy to replace!

I’m hoping I can get these rear springs on with compressors like someone had mentioned after unhooking everything attached to the LCA.

 

Downstairs has been done for years, the master was done a few years ago, there are two bedrooms and my wife's office upstairs we are doing now.

 

Man, I wish all mods were this easy to install.

 

I did mine with out spring compressor but it was very sketchy and wouldn't recommend.

 

I would not consider it without a spring compressor. I am compiling a spring compressor museum, I had three already and now have two more for this job. Hopefully, the clamp one works.

 

If you don't mind let me know what works best. The spring spacers I got make a bit of noise pulling in and out of parking lots so at some point I'd like to upgrade springs and ditch the spacers.

 

I will let you know, it's still 90+ at 3am so It will be a while.
