When I was 11 years old, I had a storm Cellar door (100+ lbs) crush my arm. I was standing at the entrance into the cellar and the wind blew the door shut on top of me. It hit me in the head, thus knocking me unconscious(along with a concussion), and it crushed my arm between the concaved concrete and the heavy ass door. Needless to say it broke my hand in 4 different places, and gave my arm (ulna) a compound fracture.
I had to get 4 pins and a cast for the rest of the summer. It was greatly painful...

Since i was so young when it happened, my arm made a full recovery, my head on the other hand, some might say did not. LOL

I'm amazed, reading this thread at the healing power of the human body.
I've spoken several times, quoting James Dean,"live fast, die young and leave a good looking corpse". The truth is, I'm making excuses for youthful stupidity and indiscretion.
After totaling 3 motorcycles, wrecking several cars, and falling off 2 roofs, I've had 2 fingers torn off and reattached, a vertebra removed, knee replacement, rotator cuff surgery, most of the bones in my left foot crushed and few other mishaps.
Now the funny part; a few years ago there was a guy that got arrested with a freezer full of body parts he was cooking and eating. After reading the article, my wife turned to me and said she could probably recognize all my parts from scars or deformities!

My fractured elbow and ensuing road rash is minor compared to these.

Took a bermed corner wrong on a dirtbike, got bucked weird and my heel planted into the ground at speed - leg was straight when it hit and my knee went backwards. Tried to stand twice afterwards getting to the truck and it buckled backwards both times. Wasn't able to walk on it again until ACL reconstruction a month later. I've had a few surgeries and ACL was by far the worst.

Crashed my bicycle when younger, broke all 5 bones in my right foot.

Few years later, crashed during an enduro. Throttle stuck wide in a really high speed section. Hit trees hard. Torn muscle and sprained knee. 3 permanent scars on my shin. Wheel chair for 2 weeks, crutches for a couple months.

Not 1 member of my family expected me to live to be 25. Most expected me to do time. The good part, my remaining bucket list is really short.

Probably my worst, pain is always there. Lots of other injuries, I'm over 250 on stitches, but that is the only life changer.80F7BD6C-5627-40A6-99CD-EB9C01F1B11B_zps_326dcd5f41272ee1373cd150687af2adb2401a19.jpg

Been luck so far. Herniated L1 is the worst. No surgery so far, just have to be deliberate when lifting.
Had almost no strength in my right leg accompanied with a burning sensation for about 6 months, but it has slowly gotten a bit better.
