Procomp lift

They are not...well, not exactly. They stabilized the front rack.

 

Haven't seen a need for the traction bars out back. They tend to get beat up pretty bad when crawling over stuff. There is a lift block on the axle, but also an add a leaf. Haven't noticed or seen evidence of major axle wrap.

 

Ok. Was just curious about that. Staying stock gears for now but might go to 4.88 later and didn't know. If axle wrap was a problem would changing from the 3 in block to a 1 1/2 in block and toytec shackles set 1 1/2 to get back to 3in would that help with the axle wrap?

 

I spoke to coach builder about this.he recommended ome drakar Springs and his +3 shackles to help and to eliminate the lift block.

 

So that's what I bought.

 

That keep you level then or do you have any rake with that setup?

 

Haven't installed yet. That and one of his steering kits waiting to go on. Just need some time.

 

I'm hearing from some other forums that the abs gets messed up when lifting. Something about going around corners and lights will come on. How is this remedied? I again apologize for all the questions just have to take my truck 6 hours to get this done and I don't want any issues because of the distance factor if I need to take it back

Not usually the ABS but the VSC can get out of wack. Just do the zero point calibration.

 

Is that what is meant in the install instructions about recalibrating the abs? I'm taking this to a reputable shop so is a zero point calibration something that they would do after the install?

 

The first thing to do is to in sure you have a no kidding, spot on alignment. After that, if it is still a slight issue, a VSC reset or recalibration might be in order.

 

There a little module that more or less senses if the truck is level or not. After lifting, if its off thats where people have had problems with vsc coming on when turning and such. Like bear said have a good alignment done and then if needed do a zero point calibration if the traction control starts messing with ya.

 

How do you do a vsc reset and a zero point calibration?

 

Techstream can do it...and there are some "cheater" ways as well. You can YouTube the crap out of that topic.

 

I might be over thinking all of this. I just want everything set up right and not have to dump too much more cash in over the lift tire and wheels cause I don't wanna hear the old lady bitch if I have to drop more money

 

I know the BullyDog has a lot of features. If I don't really mind the speedometer being off would it be necessary to get both BullyDog and the Speedo calibrator? I guess a better way to put it is besides the Speedo is there anything that the hypertext Speedo calibrator does that the BullyDog doesn't? Or would I be ok getting the BullyDog and just dealing with the Speedo being off?

 

Just got my BullyDog in the mail the other day! Was your BullyDog pretty easy to install? And where did you hook your power wire into?

 

An add a fuse? I guess I'm confused. In one of the open spots or used that fuse tap? If you use one of the open spots what size fuse and was it the cab fuse box or the one under the hood?

 

So you just put a fuse in one of the open spots with the tap on it? What size fuse and does that still allow it to turn on and off with ignition or is it always on?

Lift is going in in 10 days! I was gonna do it then but I don't want to be 250 miles from home when I'm installing it in case I do something wrong. So I'm going to put it in when I get back from lifting it

 

I was informed a tuner voids warranty?

 

You can set up 3 tunes plus a stock tune if I'm not mistaken. So if you take it to a dealer reinstall the stock tune back on it and pull the cables and you should be good.

5 more days!! Going with 35s how much height did it add to the rear end total with the stage 2? 4 1/2?

 

I should rephrase that... going from stock tires to 35s plus the lift how much higher is the rear bumper from stock?

 

3 inches I think
