I finally crossed over from the dark side and was able to find this needle in the haystack. I need to do some upgrades/add ons and need advice.

Looking to upgrade tires and rims to the Method 317 Titanium https://www.methodracewheels.com/products/317-matte-titanium?variant=32914150522941 with Falken WildPeak AT3W https://www.falkentire.com/tires/light-truck-suv-cuv-tires/wildpeaka/t3w-tire with a 285/55/20 from the stock 275/55/20's. Looking to make sure I don't have an issue increasing the size.

Secondly I'm going with a spray in bedliner just because I see so many drop in liners that are shifted, lifted or faded.

Third is going with the Truxedo Pro X15 tonneau cover because of the matte finish look instead of the shiny vinyl finish type https://truxedo.com/pro-x15

4th is the sound system upgrade. I think the stock system is weak so I'm looking to add an amplifier and/or amp/speaker upgrade if need be but prefer a simple plug n play suggestion if it exists.

Any input is appreciated as I'm new to this.

    Thanks for your input.

I am on the verge of getting the exact same Truck. I have a 2018 SR5 I love but want to upgrade to Platinum. I have been watching some mods to get and aside from what you have I do believe you need to add the wireless charging tray. Very popular and even if you do not have a wireless charging phone yet soon enough you likely will and it is the perfect place to put your phone down you might as well have it charging. If you want to delete some chrome too I know AJT designs has some great products to purchase to do so. Looking to use them if I end up going to the 21 Platinum. Hope that helps and welcome to the Tundra family!

    Welcome

The Tundra TSS package in the gulf states comes with LT285/55-20 (stock suspension). 285/55 should be no issue including using the stock spare. According to the informative link below, the largest 20" diameter tire you can run with stock suspension is 275/60. This tire should have the stock spare replaced if want to be able to drive on the spare more than just to a local shop.

Regarding the tonneau I have the BAK revolver x2 and like that it is rock solid (no flapping) at highway speed.

1, I believe from what I've read you should be fine with that rim and tire combo. What's the offset?
2, good choice, make sure and plug screw holes if you plan on using bed rail. Also might be a good time to remove tie downs and upgrade them to something much nicer @602runner
3, great choice on cover I haven't seen any issues with this one.
4, oem+ is one option or @james@tech12volts has awesome options to fit many styles and budgets.

I too was going to suggest OEM Audio or Tech12Volts. No personal experience but I heard the OEM guys on a podcast, they say they’ll create a system that you can set every audio adjustment to the very middle and you’ll get all the sound as the engineer intended. Not sure how well that works out, but sounded interesting. Really though hear lots of great things about both of those choices. I believe Crutchfield has on option or two, but it may be just one of the packages offered by the first two vendors mentioned and if I know Crutchfield, it’s about 120% the quality of many others at 150% the price!

    Ok Ladies and Gents,

I'm well on my way here...

I went with Black Rhino Krugers 20" & 20mm offset which are more subtle than most of the rim options. I wanted to stay less aggressive, easier to clean, not busy. In the sun they throw off a real real subtle hint of deep deep black/blue but otherwise they are a glossy jet black. https://www.blackrhinowheels.com/truck-wheels-truck-rims-kruger.php

I went up a size on the tires without any rub. Falken Wildpeak AT/3W which the store I purchased from swore this is the hot tire right now and best for the $$$. I increased from 275/55/20 to 285/60/20. I'm told this has limited road noise. https://www.falkentire.com/tires/light-truck-suv-cuv-tires/wildpeaka/t3w-tire

I inquired about wrapping or dipping the chrome and was quoted $450 or more. So I said WTH I'm going to do this on my own. The worst that can happen is I redo or just buy black later on down the road. So I used a matte black enamel spray paint, lots of light coats, took my time and I think they came out awesome. Just need to make sure you get them from every angle and be patient. They should dry 24 hours before the reinstall. No impact to the smart access either. Store guys thought they were factory. I will say I sanded with 1,000 grit paper on most but should have gone with 600 grit on all. I did 600 grit on front handles so I will see how they hold up. I only painted the chrome areas. Debating on whether I do the Platinum badge or just leave it. I also painted the raw metal calipers with a black enamel as soon as I drove it off the lot. Those were easy of course while they were right on the truck. It makes the wheel look better as well.

As for the mirror covers, I've included a photo showing how to remove. You want long skinny flat heads to prop the tab open and then push from the top.

    upload_2021-8-4_12-38-2.jpg

Happy with the ProX15 Tonneau Cover since it's a matte black, not vinyl looking at all. Went with the spray in bed liner and legal tint on front windows since it's technically a "company vehicle."

Next up is blacking out tail lights, probably head lights to legal and resolving the crappy JBL radio/receiver/amp issue. I just need something that makes me feel like I'm at a concert once in a while. I will likely stay local for this but open to suggestions as I'm fairly competent with wiring. Keeping the stock receiver and improving amp (and speakers) if necessary.

Thanks for everyone's input! Will update when I can.
