Damn man. I had a grade 3 sprained shoulder coming off a four wheeler last fall, and that hurt like a SOB. Can't imagine how bad a separated shoulder hurts.

A little more than a year ago, I dropped my motorcycle at an intersection due to a car running a red light. Not a problem, I've practiced picking it up, ( a harley electraglide). Got in position and started walking the bike up when my foot slipped in sprinkler run off. Wedge compression fracture of L3. I have hurt my back before that required trips to the ER, but, this by far was a new level of pain.

Worst part was when I got back to work and my inbox was full of youtube videos of little old ladies picking up a bike like mine. Not sure what hurt more the injury or all the ribbing I took. Still get occasional grief!

Man, these are some frickin doozies!! Let's see...the worst?

Mar 19, 1999. Just wanted to go fishing. That's all. Working the graveyard, had been "awake" for nearly 30 hrs. Went in the house after loading the gear in the truck. My fishing buddy, a Yeller Lab, was out in the back yard, standing up on the door to the kitchen waiting for me to come get him. Walking across the kitchen, to the door, my left foot stopped doing foot things and down I went.

Right hand caught the door jamb, solid wood. Left hand caught the storm glass window.

Down on one knee at this time, and feel a little tingle in my hand/arm. Stick my head out the now VERY clean window frame to check in dawg--he SPLIT! Lol.

I stand up to asses the damage, thinking a band aid would do the trick and I'd be on my way to the lake---WROOOONG!!

Pulled my arm off the windowsill, and what was a single drop trickle of blood turned into a heart pulsing flow (and splatter) of blood, coming out in roughly the diameter of an open garden hose.

Long, messy story short...I dropped about 6 pints of the red stuff and needed a life flight to San Fransisco. 5 days ICU, 1 week recovery and yrs of PT to get mobility back in my hand (not even close to normal even all these years later). Severed the ulner artery, ulner nerve (imagine having your funny bone being stimulated every minute of every day for the last 18 yrs) and the tendons to my pinky, ring and middle fingers.

Yep. Even got a TShirt from my chopper ride!! The scar has faded a bit, but goes from the base of my palm halfway to my elbow.

    Good times. Good times

Back issues with herniated discs related to my military service, June of 2014 out on a lake in Tennessee. I dove into the water from the pontoon boat and had one of the discs in my back release and paralyze me. Had to get emergency surgery to have the disc removed and my spine fused. Spent the next four months in a wheel chair learning how to walk again

I broke my collarbone in two spots when I was 10. Worst part about it was the week after I broke it, we got a heat wave the whole time I was in a brace. I got to watch everyone else go swimming while I sat with my feet in the pool. And I tore a disc in my lower back about 8 years ago. Still bothers me from time to time.

Jesus, some of you guys are nuts. hahah I thought I had a bad run of injuries. Guess not!

Worst was cracking my L4 Vertebrae when I was 16 snowboarding. Nice hard impact on a rock. Surgery wasn't necessary but I lived with that pain for months and it still causes discomfort sometimes after a long day. haha

Other than that, I broke a growth plate in my left wrist, a lot of broken fingers, and a broken arm. None of them were that bad comparatively. Only had pins once. In my left pinky for 6 months when I was 12.

I don't know where to start. I've broken almost every finger at least once, hand, ankle, nose, couple toes, leg and pelvis. Couple herniated discs in my neck from car accident. Probably literally have got hundreds of stitches. I've sat for multiple 8+ hr tattoos. Lol. Separated shoulder. Matter of fact Oct 1st this past year I fell off my roof onto my deck breaking my pelvis and got a bunch of blood clots in my leg. Very lucky to be alive. Having gone through my long list of injuries from many years of playing football, boxing, other sports and just being nuts on machines I got to say I thought I was indestructible up until about 10 years ago. I'm now 38 body going on 60. This I will give the award of most painful. I was racing my Z400 quad and went to bail off machine before it rolled. Well my heel guard was broke so when I took my right leg over to the left side to push off it went b/t the peg and the back tire ate it up against the foot peg. I jumped up off the ground yelled to my buddies jokingly I meant to do that and the second I put weight on my leg it collapsed. I ended up with a compound fracture of my tibia and fibula with my foot pretty much dangling by skin. I had to lay in the woods watching my bones blow blood bubbles for over a hour waiting for an ambulance to take me to get air lifted medivac. I ended up with a titanium rod, bunch of screws, and a couple nasty scars. It was then I realized I wasn't invincible and I needed to stop doing crazy shit. The scary part is I still work in a construction related field operating heavy machinery, chainsaws, and such. Knock on wood I have yet to really hurt myself work related but got 20+ years to go until I retire with pension so just give it some time and unfortunately somewhere down the line I will probably be adding to my long list. Not to preach, If I can give any of u young guys any advice it's try to take better care of your bodies when you're young because you might not feel it all then but it eventually catches up with you, just getting out of bed in the morning now hurts and takes a little while for everything to start working. I got 2 young kids, live an active lifestyle like split wood to heat my house ect, work a very physically demanding job and if you look at me I'm a pretty big dude that looks like I'm in great shape. But, I got to admit, my younger years of being crazy and doing dumb shit I pay for it now that I'm a little older and a day don't go by that I don't feel some kind of pain somewhere paying for my past. Take it from me take care of your bodies.

Hey that's not fair, I now feel short changed. Why didn't I get a t shirt for the chopper ride? I really got a raw deal on mine. All I got for my 20 min ride was a bill for 20 grand. Lol. It was a good thing I had medical benefits. Talk about adding insult to injury.

Right?? Forgot to add from my accident that I was taken by care flight from BFE Oklahoma to OKC... Instead of getting a t-shirt out of it, they cut mine off
Care flight is darn expensive too.. Mine was basically the price of a brand new Tundra

The worst pain I have ever encountered. I can still remember the non-stop pain that had me rolling on the ground squealing like a little girl lol. I've torn an ACL and MCL and those were like a walk in the park compared lol

Well, there was this girl and she ripped out my blood pumper. The end.

Just kidding. Damn. I thought I was rough on myself. Some of these back injuries are crazy painful I bet.

    Appendix out

Broke right wrist doing a heel clicker on my MX bike. Pins and reconstruction surgery.

Right knee ACL. Race track injury.

Right knee scar tissue clean up.

Right shoulder rotator cuff. Electrical line work. Comes with the job.

Left elbow. I ripped all the tendons in my left elbow. Did this in the Mohave Desert on my Raptor 700SE in the middle of nowhere. My friend took my jersey and made a sling and then we tied it up as tight as possible. There was a huge desert race that weekend and we kinda missed it due to arriving late driving from CO to CA. My Dodge broke down again and caused quite the delay. I drove out with one arm.

Sitting still out on an open trail, my friend was catching up to me and ran directly into me with his sport quad. The impact caused 2800.00 worth of damage to my MX bike, tore my left MCL (no surgery required, just PT). After this I sold all my sport quads and MX bikes. Surgeries suck and I was done. I kept my sport bike 1000RR until my wife was pregnant with our first. A guy rear ended me while I was on the bike (low speed, I didn't go down) and I had enough of that as well. Have not been on anything since late 08.

    ***Warning Graphic***

This was by far my worst accident. Happened back in the summer of 2010 at work. Rigging strap broke out on the shop floor and a 1 ton piece of steel landed on my foot. Thank god I had steel toes on or my foot would no longer be with me. The slice on the bottom of my foot is where the bone was pushed out and the bone in my small toe is no longer existent. Had to do 80 hours in an hyperbaric chamber to try and keep the oxygen levels up in my foot. Ended up with just one small skin graft.

I've had 2 kidney stones. No fun. Last one was on a ski trip to Breckinridge in Feb. Nicest, most efficient ER I've ever been in, and I've seen my fair share.

When I was 18 I had a head on accident with a drunk driver on my 85' Ninja 900. Back then there was no helmet law and I wasn't wearing one. I've been riding motorcycles since age 7 so when I was flying through the air my instincts took over and I did a tuck so I was going feet first instead of head first before I slammed to the ground. When I came to a stop I looked back and saw huge flames which I realized was my beloved bike so of course I started screaming for someone to put out the flames and save my bike(Priorities) As I was looking left lying on the street my left wrist was about 6 inches off the ground with my hand turning the opposite direction and my bone sticking out the other side. My right arm was doing king Tut. Later at the hospital I found out I broke my pelvis in 3 places. They had to put steel plates on both bones in my left arm. If I was older when it happened they never would have taken them out but since I was 18 and still growing they removed them 2 years later. Two weeks of living hell in the hospital. I screamed so loud every time they had to turn me so I wouldn't get bed sores. It was so bad my family didn't just leave the room when the nurses turned me but they left the hospital. I can't fathom anything more painful than a broken pelvis. After I was released I had to learn how to walk again. The pain was so bad you literally can't walk.
Going through that experience gave me quite a high pain threshold. I still ride street bikes and I will until the day I die. I've been in a few car accident but this was the worst. My body was done in at just 18. The doctor was right that later on in life I would have to deal with arthritis which really sucks.

That's funny. Jason if you're anything like me I feel sorry for ya brother. Hey you never know. I do have a relative I know about that runs some kinda resort over there in Lake Tahoe. That and if my or our father was only half as bad as I was growing up I'd say that's quite possible. I gotta say I'm very lucky to only have 2 kids I know about, lol.

Dave I feel ya buddy. Funny thing is when I fell off my roof and was laying folded up on my deck when my kids ran over to the sliding door I didn't want t them worrying about me seeing me like that so I got up, picked up the chainsaw I had in my hand off the ground and hobbled my way down my back deck. I then put the saw in my garage, walked up a flight of stairs and got myself into the shower to wash the blood off my hand bc I wanted to know if I needed stitches and should go to hospital. When I got myself into shower and realized I couldn't hardly get out is when I realized something is wrong down there. Talk about some sharp pain. My dumb ass almost never went to hospital for the broken pelvis, the ol lady is a nurse and was worried about internal bleeding so she made me go. Thank God she did bc if not I might not be here now from the clots. Funny side note just to show what a mess I am. A week after breaking my pelvis I was standing up getting a quicky in from behind. Lol. Guess that proves it's hard to keep a dog from getting to his bone. Lol
