For families and friends, yes, I do help without hesitation. But all my immediate family members don't live nearby and all my friends know how much I baby this truck. So they end up not even asking for help.

I let a family member borrow my old truck once. When i got it back, the bed was destroyed and there were a few dents and scratches on the truck. Said they had to pick up something big but light at the home improvement store. Turns out they need more lumber than the truck was rated for. Last time someone used my truck besides me

    Me.......
I usually laugh while rolling the window up and then lay 2 stripes of rubber up the road and the sweet smell and smoke of MT's lingering in the atmosphere.

I know. Was just borrowing a quote from a former worker of mine. She worked in the auto industry and when she would ask truck drivers to help help move stuff in the warehouse, their excuse was always that they had gout. So in the office when we worked together, when we needed something from each other we would say the same thing LOL.

As Chris said, grow a pair and say no.

With that said I refuse to let one bad experience turn me off from helping people altogether. Another buddy of mine, needed a ride for a while as his ram charger went to the shop to for a trans rebuild (actually the same guy that was pissing in water bottles to get Chris's jeep on the trail lol) he's a good guy. I also know where he works and know that he'd pay to fix his screw ups. He has some integrity.

As for the "buddy" that did this 3bf3835ca653744ff2087772064b8a27_1eff727afcba8846283b455b1f1dfa9227879153.jpg he's a worthless piece of shit. I let him borrow it to help an army buddy of his move, I had other things to do that day and couldn't be there, he didn't even have the balls to tell anyone at my house when he dropped it off, didn't send me a text (partly because he lest his brand new phone the week prior in a drunken night) but didn't tell me about it till I was dropping mail off at his place because he's too fucking lazy to change his mailing address form when my family offered him a bed for 2 fucking years rent free because he was having family issues. And of corse his lazy ass refuses to get a job, sit at his aunts and cousins apartment playing video games, and thinks working in the reserves one weekend a month is enough of a "job"

Ok end rant. Just say no.

Wow that's some damage right there. Helping someone move a dresser is one thing but no one borrows my truck. Only people that drives my truck is me and the guy that's driving me to the hospital when I'm dying.

I helped a buddy move from California to Colorado and, at the same time, helped him move his ex-wife from California to Oklahoma. I just asked that he pay for the gas and the uhaul trailer.

for local moves, I would at least expect a lunch out of it.
