Ummm... :D What's "it", and why do I want to keep it from peeling?

He's been doing lots of tasty Griddlin lately, and maybe Tippin a few it seems. God bless him and his bald head. :)

Thinking this thread should’ve been titled “bald guys”?

I do my best to keep all my bald things covered and out of the sun as much as possible. I hate sunscreen, so I stick to wicking clothing and brimmed hats.

As for keeping from getting dry skin, I give it a good rub with “Honest” brand sensitive skin fragrance free lotion after I shave. It works pretty good on all my bald spots. o_O

I keep my hat on, but doesn't seem to make a big difference. I currently use beard oil on it (which makes some of a difference) to try and keep it hydrated as much as possible

how often do ya shave it? i shave every 2-3 days (usually sunday morning then tuesday and thursday nights) and use an aftershave lotion. i've been doing dollar shave club and been happy with their stuff since i started getting it about 4 years ago. my head doesn't peel or get dry/flaky. of course hats are a regular for me. not a fan of sunscreen on my head for multiple reasons.

I shave my head every other day. I grow hair, quickly.

    I’ll give that a try!

They make all these damn products to "regrow" hair and prevent hairloss, where is the "No-Gain"? I want some shit so I quit having to shave my friar-tuck hair growth...

here’s a true story you might find amusing.
I ran a historical restoration project of the AZ state Capitol, over a 4 year period. Made many lasting friends and had some great memories. The chief of security was a very bald retired cop from NYC and we got to be good buddies. I would love to get visiting teenagers touring the Capitol involved in a prank. I would get them to stop by the security desk in the rotunda on the first floor and ask him, “how do you keep your dome polished?”

Holy shit! I shave once a week - Saturday or Sunday. Face and head. I started back in 1995 (I was barely 18) and eventually the hair on top said "fuck it" and stopped trying to come back. I wish the rest of it would do the same...

I’m not bald but I’m out in the sun, a lot. Obviously I try to keep covered at work but my skin will get dry. especially my face. I’ve been using Aloe gator sunblock gel. It’s a little greasy but it’s super hydrating on my type of skin. And it works really well! I don’t have to reapply like other sunblocks. At home I use some products my wife has around LOL one of them I like is Bio oil. Seems to work pretty well, and similar to natural oils that you produce. I also cut back on using face soap so often. It really dries you out and you lose your natural oils that keep you hydrated. Instead I just scrub really well with water and occasionally face a very mild soap. I’ve been having really good results on my skin. Leave it alone as much as you can LOL

Saw a bit from a dermatologist on the news a while back, and he said that most people dry off too aggressively. Essentially wiping or scrubbing dry with a towel is wrong, and exfoliates too much. You're only supposed to pat dry with a towel.

I thought it was BS, but figured I'd give it a shot. Surprised me when my forearms quit drying out with no other changes.

Not sure if it'll help the scalp, but worth a shot.

I do not use anything on my noggin. I deep sea fish a lot, I do not wear hats. I just let it tan like all the rest of my skin. Has worked great for 20 years.

Oddly enough I do still shampoo my scalp for some reason.

You really should wear a hat.

I normally do not when I know I will indoors most of the day. When outside for extended lengths of time I wear a hat.

Top of the bald head still gets tanned from the short times I am without a hat, but does not get burned and its protected.

Do you use bar soap or a body wash?

I used bar soap for years, always had dry skin including my bald head.

I switched over to body washes and finally found one that solved the dry skin problem, Dove skin care for men, I like it, no dry skin issues since I started using it over a year ago.

You guys are making me rethink my regime. I razor shave my head about every 3 days or so. I just use shaving cream or gel and nothing after. I do sweat a lot and sweat very easy so ive never had issues with peeling or dry scalp. Im starting to wonder if dollar shave club might be worth it.

I personally like it and their shave butter. I just use the shave butter and the aftershave lotion/balms. I have the executive I think that has the 6 blade system. I love it. Brother shaves his head as well and wasn't a fan. The shave butter cleans out your blades easier I find too.

My hair grows too fast to bother with an actual blade. Same for the beard. I don't get a 5 o'clock shadow, I get an 11 AM shadow. I just use a trimmer, and I've always just done it with dry hair/head. I shower after, obviously, but perhaps I should get some kind of treatment if I decide to shave my head again. :monocle:
