    Hey everyone,

Hoping for a little guidance on here as I go through and do my chrome delete on my black 2012 Platinum Sequoia.

I love this car, but HATE the chrome everywhere.

I have gone through the Ultimate OEM parts thread a bunch and found several parts I think I want to swap, but wanted to start a new thread specific to this build out. (side note, if anyone has a good store to buy parts from other than toyota cool springs, let me know, as Roman's shop seems closed).

Has anyone done the Rock Warrior grill swap on a black sequoia? Any pictures on how that looks?
Is it worth it to spend the money on the paint color handles and mirror caps? or should I try to paint them to match? Is there anyone out there that would want the chrome parts if I do the swap?
I still have about 20k miles left on my tires, but would like to swap my wheels and tires out when the tires go. Any gotchas on OEM wheels and tires that would not fit? Hoping to get some TRD or other tundra wheels to swap.

Any help or warnings would be great! Appreciate the help!

Welcome, check out my build thread. It has answers to most of your questions and should give you a good starting point. Here is how my truck looks as of today. Keep in mind, it’s an 2008.

Cheap and holds up even in our Minnesota winters.

I ordered the majority of my parts from Roman until the issue with his shop came up. Not sure why it's still closed... I ordered the TRD Pro fog lights and bezel trim from sparksparts.com. I also got my TRD Pro grill from them. Their shipping is quick and the price on the parts I ordered was only marginally higher than Roman ($10-$20).

It's unfortunate that you can't order any of the Platinum colors pre painted. If I had a black Sequoia I would have my parts color matched. Shouldn't be that much more expensive if you compiled all the parts and had them all sprayed at once.

    Good luck!

Also hate the chrome and looking to eventually delete it all on my 2007 White Tundra! But just a holler cause I'm also in Franklin and go to Toyota Cool Springs!

Tundra grilles won’t fit a sequoia. Your bumper is different. A sequoia grille can go on a tundra but there is a 1”+ gap along the bottom between the grille and the bumper.

I know this is an older thread but I thought I'd post some pics of my 2018 platinum getting the chrome delete started. Maybe someone will be inspired to DIY their truck too.

I vinyl wrapped the mirrors and plasti dipped the grill, fog light accents and the rear badges. i will dip the "platinum" badges later. I ran out of sheet plastic.

I plan on getting a TRD PRO grill soon.

Ima vinyl wrap the door handles next. This shit is harder than it looks. Lol!
