$30 freaking bucks for a bone in pork butt. $30 really!!!?

Another place had the twin packs of pork butts, $60 plus.

No freaking way, sorry not this guy.

Thankfully I had thawed out my last brisket flat this week, so its on the egg now.

$30 and up for butts, folks done lost their minds.

I'm right there with ya Rich.
Durning the "beef shortage" I was still able to get a prime brisket at Costco for $3/lb, now it was over 5. No way Jose. Their tri tip was also 9.50/lb. You freaking nuts?!?!?! Hard pass.

I just got two from a local butcher shop for the 4th. They are always more then a typical grocery store/Costco. I paid $5/pound. Not your everyday pulled pork, but every once in a while I’ll splurge….or support a local business…which ever makes the price sit better.

My favorite steak (on a quality vs price comparison) has increased from $5.49 to $8.99 at Costco. Forget that. Anymore as far as beef goes, we eat maybe 2 pounds of hamburger a week. Mostly chicken now and pork chops when my wife finds a price she likes. Eating a lot more eggs, beans, etc. Silver lining of high beef prices is a healthier diet.

Speaking of wood... I like the B&B briquets for the WSM, they're consistent, last a good while, and if I overfill the smoker they're pretty good on the 2nd burn in the kettle grill too. I'm having a hell of a time finding the 16lb bags. Places have the 9 lb bags (still very low supply), but typically the 16's cost the same as the 9's at most places, maybe a dollar more.

:tinfoilhat: My tinfoil hat says it's all a conspiracy to force everyone to eat vegan. I'll stop there before I get banned. ;)

Lucked out and loaded up on 4 BIB’s at 1.29/lb. Wanted some baby backs but they were 6.99/lb. No thanks. I love B&B Lump charcoal. I can get it 16.99 for 20lbs at my local Ace. Burns long and holds temps really well in my egg.

Don't forget the pig farmers now have to pay fifty fkn grand for a 2018 pickup with 60k on the clock. Probably going to get even worse in the next few months too.
