I have the same issue with mine. Tried a back to black but didn’t do much. Need to try another brand.

    looks good!

This stuff works very well. Better than anything I've used for making the black plastics look new. Seems to last longer too. I use it on everything but my tires.
I start at one corner of the truck and work my way around applying, by the time I make it all the way around it's time to go back and start wiping off.

This got me thinking. When I was applying Cquartz 3.0 ceramic coating on my paint, I got some on the plastic trim on the door and it made it look black instead of dull. So I do think the ceramic coating will help, if any.

Installed my Midland MXT275 in the center console, with a remote plug using a factory blank location. Turned out super clean. Able to hit my best friend using our “high gain” antennas 8 miles apart in dense urban. Very impressed. Most likely going to setup one as my base station in the house with a J-Pole antenna in the attic so we can talk house to house, always good to have backup comms. Will probably upgrade the unit in the truck to the new mxt575 when it’s released and move the 275 to the house.

**EDIT** Ended up moving the rj45 pass through so the cable would hang more naturally when in use.

Package 1 of the bumper came today. Apparently it’s the winch mount/main center plate. Also 4 LED pod lights with hardware.

The other package which I can only assume is the actual front pieces is still in “labeled” status lol and hasn’t moved yet

Got my DD SS3 Amber lights and PowerStop z36 brake kit today. Thank you @memario1214 for changing my mind on the lights had a bit of difficulty on the housing due to stubborn screw on the side but after removed housing sit right on there. Brakes will be mounted later even though the tiny rear brakes compared to the front brakes really freaked me out for a second

    Pretty things
You and I are on the same wavelength..only in reverse.

The tundra brakes are underwhelming to say the least. They're not much bigger than the brakes on my sedan weighing an entire ton less.

It's nice to finally have the factory fresh pads and rotors on there after accumulating the brake shims and hardware. I've never had to purchase the shims for the pads separately before (for almost $60), but hopefully I get several years out of the set... We shall see with these little baby rotors.

I also rotated the "big foot ATs" as the front tires seem to have a little more wear than rear, and I have no idea when it was done last.

I also have a fog light project I'll try to get after in the next few. But heres a teaser:

Last weekend I made a trip up to Bayfield, WI to do some fishing with my dad and grandfather on Lake Superior. Caught 5 lake trout! Made a quick pit stop through the cabin on the way home to ditch the topper and threw on the bed cover. The topper definitely looked nicer in my opinion but wasn't as functional as a pickup.

This weekend I threw in Morimoto headlights and Morimoto license plate lights that I picked up over the 4th (gotta get the deals!). The headlights are absolutely delightful looking. Cant wait to see how the output looks on the road. The license plate lights are almost too bright, but they serve their purpose well. Overall, took about 45 mins to install both, couldn't have been easier. Can't wait to black out the chrome, it will really set the truck off!

Yeah, they are no joke! I'm going to have to find a spot to mount my backup camera that isn't in the light path, otherwise they will completely wash out the camera.

just bought a 2010 sr5 double cab off road, 126k on the clock and a solid maintenance history. I pick it up Tuesday. Pretty excited to have a pickup back in the fleet. It compliments the 2003 Land cruiser nicely.

its just a generic from Tractor Supply. I had to cut the harness off my old, damaged plug, and solider it to the new plug. But you can buy a plug-and-play plug for easier fitment.

Crossed a few things off the list today...

Mounted my powered sub vertically on the back panel. Used a couple brackets and properly fitted hardware and I think its pretty solid. Hated drilling 4 holes into the panel, but used some grommets and I think it looks pretty clean. Better than being loose on the floor behind the seat, and impeding the seat positions.
    20210711_172144.jpg
Took that time to also install killmat on the rear panel. Will be doing the doors over the next few weeks. Can tell a small difference, keeps the bass in and exhaust out. I have a feeling this will be one of the top 5 best mods I've done when it's all done. I don't think I'll do the floors, but maybe one day. At least the doors. Of course, I forgot to take a pic.

Coachbuilder abs relocation bracket kit. Only did one of the two brackets it comes with. The BDS kit comes with a small relocation bracket for the hard brake lines, which I kept, but not abs sensor wires. That being said, I've got a relocation bracket for the brake lines if anyone needs it. Willing to ship.
    20210711_172212.jpg

Replaced PCV valve. $10 and 10min maintenance.

Then the big ticket item today, spark plugs. I'm at 98.5k miles, 5.7L. Oil on #4 and #6 plugs... great. Going to start looking at valves, seals, and such next oil change. Overall, good idea to change them. Tips looked fine, but they needed a change.

That's not valve seals, that's the spark plug tube seals. It can be a bit of a problem when the oil damages the spark plug boots.
