Dasaita Android Head Unit

So I just got my Dasaita 10.2 in today for my 2013 JBL with Nav. The screen and bezel fits perfectly in my dash, but my harness does not match up at all with the factory harness. I confirmed with seller which one, CB0005, I needed before they shipped my order as well.

Has anyone installed this in a JBL Nav before?

 

So apparently I actually ordered the CB004 instead of the CB005. I thought I was ordering the correct one based on the link in the description of the head unit and the description of the harness saying 2012 - 2020 or so. But the one I needed was CB005 and has a description of 2007 - 2011.
Hopefully they can get that harness to me quickly.

 

Your head unit looks identical to mine. Look at my previous photos of the harness that I end up using to get everything working minus the DVD player and Fade Control.

 

Can you share what you needed to get backup camera to work? You mentioned another harness as well? Is that different from the CB005 CANbus harness?

Thanks! I’m going to order just in case I need it. I thought the head unit I got allowed me to retain backup camera and came with everything. I’d rather have it and return if I don’t need it! I guess the only other thing is that harness to trigger the backup camera. Hoping it’s all plug and play.

 

No it does not. It took me three months to have everything to work close to the original factory spec.

 

Everything should be here next Wednesday. Just need to wire up that trigger wire I guess. Is a harness really needed or can I just splice/tap a wire?

 

In one of my post, It showed where you can tap the trigger wire into. Grey 4 pin I think its a green wire if I remember correctly.

 

Gotcha! I thought there was another harness to get. I can splice wires no problem. I’ve installed many head units and had to solder adapters onto the aftermarket unit I was installing.
Hopefully I have everything!

 

Has anyone tried this unit or looked into it? Pros? Cons?

Looks like I'll be upgrading or getting another truck so i can install this.

 

It looked to have very similar features as to the Dasaita unit. However, it looks to me like it resembles more of the floating head units which I didn’t want. The Dasaita seemed more flush with the dash.

Hopefully I’ll have all may harnesses this week and can report back.

 

This is 1080p instead of 720p with more Ram and Rom it seems, plus Bluetooth 5.1 etc... I don't know that's why I was asking.

 

Yeah, it might have a fewer higher specs. I’ve briefly looked at it on YouTube and reviews seem good. I just don’t like the floating display look. And the Dasaita seemed like in the reviews it will do everything I need.

 

Totally understand, it seems like the Dasaita has a lot more reviews and better software interface, so I may go that way as well.

 

Also, did you need to buy the dash kit as well? If so, which one and any other cables or harnesses to retain factory equipment JBL amp, backup cam, mic etc...) Seems we have the same truck

 

So I got my harness in today! The unit is up and running and looks great. I’m still playing with which CANbus setting is right and my steering wheel controls aren’t working yet. But I’ve only been playing with it for an hour or so.

i ended up not needing that backup camera harness and no bezel is needed. For 2007 - 2013 this unit comes made specifically to fit the dash.

 

Is that the CB005-1 harness?

 

Yes, the one I originally got was the CB004 and said it fit 2012 - 2019 or something. The CB005-1 said it fit 2007 - 2011. But it actually fits 2007 - 2013. At least for my 2013 Limited with JBL and Nav.

 

Ok, I'll probably pull the trigger on this unit and request the CB005-1 harness, so your steering wheel controls and USB/AUX work also, along with backup cam and GPS?

I think I read that the Camry/RAV 4 Canbus setting is correct one but I could be wrong.

 

Still working on the steering wheel controls. Must be a setting or connection I have wrong. It should work.
Factory usb in dash didn’t work. Didn’t try aux. but I just removed it from the dash and replaced with blank. It comes with three other USB ports.

 

Just got controls working. It was the Camry/RAV4 but the “steering wheel keys assign” under other factory settings needed to be “swc key”.

Backup camera worked with radio and correct CANbus harness. They provide their own gps but I’m not planning on using it Bc I’m using the wireless Apple CarPlay and Waze.

 

They also provided a mic to run and install but I tested before doing that and the OEM mic works just fine!

 

These unit uses an internal mic so the truck factory mic will not work. It cant be intergrated into these radio. The internal mic is top left corner of the radio. Those 2 little holes you see. 1 is mic 1 is reset button.

honestly the only different between dasaita and joying is the user interface. Everything else are the same. Support will varies.

 

Yeah, I realized the mic in the upper left after I made that post. I called myself and checked the audio and it sounded fine. No need to run an extra mic.

i also installed an ODB2 splitter and a Bluetooth ODB2 scanner and installed the torque app on the unit. Haven’t played with it too much but seems like it will give me lots of stats and error code reader should I need it.

 

That's great the stock microphone worked on the 2nd Gen. Maybe the 3rd gen truck are different?

 

Brandon corrected me. It uses its own built in mic on the front of the radio.
