I'll post some pictures of that tonight when I can get some pictures In the dark Also picked up some shock extensions for the front that I might throw on and crank up the torsion bars. Just to try and keep the shocks happy.

Same thing happened to me when I put new OME springs... got 5" of lift from what was supposed to be 2". Maybe they'll settle. Hopefully. On the front I put 1.5" ball-joint spacers. Haven't touched the torsion bars yet. When I go to 35s I might. IMG_1170.jpg

How hard was the swap? I've got the SR-5 gauges too but haven't gotten around to installing yet.

Honestly I thought it was a lot harder then it was. I was thinking it was fining to be removing the entire dash, but no it's 9 Phillips head screws, 3 electrical plugs and the speedo cable. Also have to replace the oil pressure switch (for the low oil dummy light) to an oil pressure sensor (it's now an actual gauge) I replaced the oils sensor first then removed the old one and just plugged in the new one and turned my truck on and low and behold it was already wired for a tac

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SzWUDajYXrk

Was watching this last night and that's what pushed me over the edge into doing it.

As for your mention on the rear springs, you gotta think that the lift is from stock height, not the sagged height that we were used to.

When I had a shell on my 97 Chevy. I put 2x4's across the trusses in my garage. I put bolts w eyes ( circles ) in the 2x4's. I'd back the truck into the garage and hook tie downs to the shell w a 2x4 and eye bolts under the shell. Then lift the shell corner by corner by myself until the shell was tucked up tight to the roof trusses.
I saw a pic on here of someone else doing the sand thing. Worked good, kept the shell out of the way. It took about 1/2 hour to put on/ remove shell.

I'll be doing something like that when I get my house. No garage that I could do that to currently

Get the blue one. You won't have to get new seats. Sunroof to, it'll give you a good view of the road.

Well... Today was a pretty crappy day... Been working out a deal with a friend of mine for one of his pick ups since mid February. Finally when I flipped the runner I said I was ready to pick it up. So I drove down to the spring bright and early only to find out that the trucks frame had been heavily (and cheaply) modified in the rear to accommodate a flat bed in the rear, and that in the modifications done to it, they left Lots of spots on the frame Unprotected... Thus leaving multiple sections of foot long frame holes. My buddy had said the frame was good but sadly I was lied to... My goal was to have this one up and running with the swapped parts from punkin by next weekend for the meet and greet... That's not happening... Looks I'm back to driving my screwed up tundra... Damn...

Because of this whole deal, I think I'm going to be holding off on another 4x4 for awhile... As much as I love wheeling and putting punkin to the test, I think getting another truck right now would fell almost disrespectful to punkin. Call me stupid for thinking I can disrespect a car, but honestly, punkin was very much a healing factor for me over the past 8 months. Every change I did to her was trying to change something about my self and try and rebuild myself from what I had lost. Hell the reasons I painted her orange was because I was tired of looking at the old faded paint and I wanted somethings that looked fresh and new. And now that she is gone, I feel weird just trying to replace her. I'm going to head to the shop that she's at and tarp her up and set her in the backyard that way she isn't taking up my buddies shop space.

I do think I'm going to be looking for another vehicle to accompany the tundy. Something good on gas. Every time I fill up I miss my metro... Could fill up for half what I'm spending on the tundra and it would last 2x as long.... I should probably give the tundra a formal name here soon... Maybe Linus... Hang a blanket like a flag on the back.... Hmm maybe.
Anywhore, this was actually the weekend after I got the rear elocker installed, and literally the day after I got done painting her. It's also a down side Of going with well built rigs. You just have to know if your half built rig can do what theirs can do. Ok tangents over. Enjoy. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9CrTY0EpVzY&feature=youtu.be

P.s. Pardon my dads crappy filming

Not stupid for feeling respect for something you poured sweat, tears and blood (literally).

Also, sounds like you need better friends. The ones you have trash your truck or lie to you. What's up with that?

The dude that trashed my truck is one thing.

I don't know if it was really lieing to me, he lives in wy for the past few years and haven't seen the truck since he moved up there. He's a good guy normally, shirt off his back kinda guy. When a mutual friend of ours wrecked her 4Runner he chopped off the front of one his and gave it to her. He also offered todo the same for mine as well as a chop off a roof for me to put back on mine. I declined doing that. Not worth the headache.

But bad friends seem to be a dime a dozen for me. Though, I have a couple now that would have my back with out a doubt. Just have to disregard the 50 that I tried to make and got fucked over by.

You know you got a friend when you get a text from your ex and that pisses them off lol

It's a kick in the nuts when you bust your ass on something then it goes to shit. More things than a truck.
I've found if you're hunting for something, you're disappointed and don't get what you're looking for. However, once you stop looking, something sweet drops into your lap. And if you're not focused and hunting, you're aware enough to realize a new opportunity.
    Don't be in a rush.
Besides, let that gash and the bruises heal before you start wrenching away on something else.
Heck, Take a sawzall to that thing, make it a convertible, then you don't have to worry about storing the shell. You could even sell the shell, I'm sure it would go quick.
Just make sure you build a roll cage into it.
Hell do a full length roll cage and put an overland tent on the back, flip up windshield like a jeep, bikini top over the cab.
    Just a thought.

Stitches come out Monday(Tomorrow) and the bruises are pretty much gone. Still have color, but no pain.

I debated about that but it's more that the alinement and the entire front suspension is busted, the rad is cracked, pretty much all parts that I DONT have laying around....

Haha. I've got a copper radiator that fits a 95. It's yours if you can use it. Let me know, I'll even ship it.

95 runner or pickup? Regardless I'll have my local parts department cross check part numbers and I'll let you know.

95 4Runner 3.0. It's yours if you can/want to use it. Frankenstein that thing.
    (Sorry, can't pass this up)
    It'll match the scar.
