Nah. Get the limited. You're really only paying for badges and small items on the TSS

Agreed. Limited or platinum FTW. A lot of convenience features that come with for a little extra money.

Or even the TRD OR with SR5 upgrade package.

From what I have seen the TSS only has cosmetic upgrades no actual funtionablity upgrades.

That's just a little lower than what I paid for mine today...2017 Crewmax 4x4 with TSS off-road package. Blazing blue pearl with black cloth seats. I got my deal after searching all over the DFW area...sounds like you've found a good deal.

    Go for it!

With the pro, I really wasn't impressed with the interior or the lack of convenience features. Don't get me wrong, its a beautiful truck. The money can get some better options on suspension.

The reason I went with the TRD OR. If you want leather seats you can always add them and add cooled and heated seats after market.

here is what the TSS edition adds:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/tss-question.6242/#post-89606

TSS edition is similar to the Texas edition. The Texas edition (for 2016) added:
    • 20" wheels
    • 275 55 20 tires
    • tube steps
    • remote start
    • chrome exhaust tip
    • LED bed lights
    • spray in bed liner
    • Texas edition branded carpeted floor mats
    • Texas edition badging
    • ball mount
    • front tow hooks
The TSS edition should also include the SR5 upgrade package like the Texas edition did. That includes:
    • entune premium with 9 speakers, 7" display, backup camera, navigation, etc
    • 38 gallon fuel tank (2016)
    • front bucket seats
    • 8 way power drivers seat
    • 4 way manual passenger seat
    • tilt and telescoping steering wheel
    • auto down drivers side window
    • center console with sequential floor mounted shifter
    • additional cup holders in center console
    • rear vents in center console
    • heated, manual folding side mirrors
    • auto dimming rearview mirror with compass and homelink
    • anti theft system with engine immobilizer

$41000 is good price. I got my texas edition for $42500. The limited does add more features like dual climate control, leather, auto up and down windows, and options for a sunroof and upgraded radio with subwoofer. The sticker for a limited is probably $45k-$47k.

Suppose it depends on what you want to do with it and if the options are worth it... personally can't stand the remote start from Toyota. It shuts off as soon as you open the door which is total BS. Everything else is cosmetic only.. probably overpriced at that.

If you're going to lift and put new wheels and tires anyway, not worth the street runner upgrades lol.

The bed lights are nice tho.

I just upgraded my 2017 4.6L CM to a 5.7L CM TSS this weekend, 41k OTD( I got to keep all of my add ons). The 4.6L was driving me crazy.

Yup, you are correct. It does depend on what you want to do with it. For me, I didn't care for the wheels and tires that come on the limited, but I did like all the options it has. The Texas edition had the nicer wheels and many of the options that come on the limited. Plus, the dealer had great incentives on the special edition truck. So it made sense for me. If I got the limited, I would have been itching to drop another $2k-$3k on wheels and tires and I wouldn't have had the same incentives.

Not sure about other regions, but here in Texas the best deals and rates are on the TSS models.

I have a TSS and honestly wish I would have just bought an SR5. The TSS package is around $4500. Would have been much cheaper to personalize wth the money saved instead of paying thousands for a few cosmetic changes.

When I originally went shopping for my Tundra the sales guy kept steering me towards the limited, but I kept going back to the TSS because of the stock look. I'm not a big mod guy lol

I guess it would(now that I've been educated from this site). Keep in mind I really didn't know what was Toyota Tundra stock, all I knew was it looked better new right off the dealership lot

SR5, PRO, TSS, LIMITED or Platinum, its all chicken but the bone~

Get what fits your budget because you can always mod up as time goes buy, if you get a SR5 or a PRO, its still a FN Tundra!

Good Luck and get what you want!

yup, same for the texas edition. in fact, Toyota gives good deals on all special editions.

I got $1500 cash back, 5 year zero percent financing, 8 year 80000 mile platinum warranty, and $19k on my trade-in. so it was $26k out the door with TTL.

It's an appearance package. Comes in either Black or Graphite. Consists of 20" wheels, BFG All-terrain TAs, tube steps, floor mats, exhaust tip, blacked out badges, and a sticker that adds about 30 HP. The price is around $4800.

I got mine for 40K plus TTL but they only had Graphite. So I had them add aftermarket wheels, black badges, and black tube steps.

Attached is my sticker which shows the price of the package and how my truck looked the day I brought it home. The last pic is how it looks after I added everything.

I honestly could have Just bought an SR5 and added what I wanted. Would have probably saved 5K. IMG_2825.jpgIMG_2788.jpg IMG_2819.jpg

I too had never heard of the TSS package until this forum, the last two I've owned was a 2008 Limited and a 2012 Platinum. Once I experienced the Platinum cooled seat option I couldn't see not having it, especially with leather seats on a hot summer day. Does the TSS come with heated/cooled seats? I got a decent deal on my 1794 but after all the upgrades it would have been money better spent on a cheaper package with steel wheels lol (Icon stage 5 w/UCAs and rims/tires added about $6500 to the already hefty price tag, not to mention the other add-ons). I liked the Pro but for the money I ended up with more options and a better suspension so I'm glad I didn't wait for one. Remember the resale of all the components you replace is less than 50cents on the dollar if you find a prospective buyer but even then it's a hard sell, so if you plan to keep it stock go with the good buy that meets your wants/needs.

So I know this is a very old thread, but the prices you are quoting above, are those BEFORE or AFTER TTL? I picked up a 2017 Tundra SR5 CM 5.7L 4x4 last night - with TSS package as well for $38500...came to $42k out the door before down payment, etc. Shopped around and negotiated several places and thought I got a pretty good deal but always like to check with others

I do know that I found it pretty ridiculous (awesome if you are an owner) that I see used 1-2 year old models with 20-30k miles listed for more than I paid for mine....some 4-5 year old with 60-70k miles didn't get out of the 30's......I about hit the floor when I first started shopping around...geez!
