Holy shit man. That sucks. Everyone ok?
Time for a new tailgate, bedsides and BEEFED UP REAR BUMPER. Hopefully no frame damage.
Is that their battery under your truck?

it sure is. This really blows man...when I felt the hit I thought it was a small fender kiss only to see smoke and blood and the ladies inside the van half passed out. I feel sorry for them they looked pretty banged up im just happy I got uninsured motorist coverage just last week as I think I saw Mexican license plates but im not 100% on that. Hope they are okay...poor older ladies

I hate that there are people out there driving without insurance. No loss to them. Ditch the car for another cheap one to get to work each day.

let me snap. truck works and doesn't make any kind of noise so im guessing it was no big deal, seems like that 7in lift came in handy

Yea it did. The energy was redirected forcing the van down and your back end up vs a direct hit.

Looks like this isnt their first accident either.

You still talking to the cops?

Yea doesn't look like the tailgate was touched. Just pulled the bumper under taking out the tow package and bedsides. Maybe some tweaking to the rear leaf hanger.

Stay strong, glad to see you are doing well. You can always get another truck, being safe is the main reason I drive my Tundra. Totally blows that it did happen

Did the driver advise what distracted them?

Glad you're ok...truck doesn't look that bad when compared to the car that rear ended you.

When is the appointment with the adjuster to get an estimate?

don't know, ill be heading over to allstate after work. I haven't even seen an adjuster for my mirror claim...shitty service from the company and they want to cover the mirror under collision when it was a hit and run clearly covered by uninsured motorist. Anyways, the driver wasn't able to say anything, half passed out all she said was "ayudame no, no me puedo mover, sacame" Spanish for help me, I cant move, get me out of here. i was about to help her out when i noticed blood all over her legs and feet didn't want to get sued for anything so i just waited for the cops. freaked out cuz there was smoke and a burning smell. I don't see skid marks,i don't think she even braked

That sucks. I have a friend who's F-250 got rear ended the same way. The frame was slightly out of wack and to his surprise his insurance totaled it. Truck was 8 years old though. He bought it back and put a new bumper on it. He has been driving now for six months and says he can't tell any noticeable difference.

I'm sorry that happened brother. At least you are OK, though I know, it's easy for me to say.

Yes its fixable. Not enough damage to get a new truck. Your truck is worth way more than the rear end damage.
My guess is that the estimate for the fix will be ...... $8,250 without bed replacement or $11,250 with bed replacement. Just a guesstimate,
    Estimate for the van...totaled.

Might just be me, but doesn't the gap between the box and cab look a bit tight in the crash pic? Was there any contact between them? Is the gap equal on both sides now?

I noticed that too. My younger brother used to be a claims adjuster for Farmers. He was pretty good about finding issues that were not immediately apparent although sometimes the damage may look worse than it really is.
