Hey, I got a 2018 trd offroad. I’m going with camburg UCA 6112’s front, and fox 2.0 rear. Looking to get about 1” or so of rear lift.

I go on road trips with friends where we cover trails and some big rocks, with a good amount of off-roading, although main use is for my construction job. So I’m hoping to maintain a rake to compensate for loads. Thinking about 2” front and about 1” rear lift just to get more clearance while still making it easy to load/unload equipment.

From my quick research I realized lift blocks are a bad idea for my use due to axle wrap and leaf spring stress. So some helpful input on lifting the rear correctly would be appreciated!

Look in the 3rd Gen market place. Just so happens a discounted toytec shackle is on there.

@Black Wolf I’m not too knowledgeable about trucks, my previous cars were bummers, but would shackles have any long term negative effects on rear axle, springs?

No long term affects using shackles when only looking for a 1" or 1.5" lift depending on budget and use of course.

Go with Dobinson's HD leaf springs and Ironman 4x4 greasable shackles and bushings, brake line relocate, carrier bearing drop kit, and Bilstein 5160 rear shocks. BDS traction bars to control axle wrap. You will gain 2", have a good ride, and be able to carry heavy loads with very minimal squat. Factory leaf packs are just weak. Adding shackles is like a band aid, when the wound requires stitches. Yes, people do it all the time, just because you can don't necessarily mean you should. Truth is when you leave the springs and bump stops factory, then add a longer shackle, if you load the truck to the bump stops, the longer shackle will be forcing the spring down beyond the original factory limit due to the added shackle length. That will amount to flattened springs over time. Now if you can modify the bump stops and keep the spring from going into a negative arch, fine, but then you will lose articulation of the axle. Lots of options, depending on how you use the truck I guess.

I heard about shackles doing that, esp if I load the back. Looked into leaf springs upgrade but decent ones will cost me about 1k with shackles to get the 1” I need. Although Heavy duty packs would def help out hauling and towing for work..

Yes I paid about $900 just for leaf packs, but good things are not cheap and cheap things are not good. Think about this, once you flatten with long shackles, what happens to the 1 inch???? It's gone!!

If you want cheap and don't need articulation you could go shackles and Sumo springs to replace the bump stops. That would help you keep your arch. Only lose some articulation on uneven ground, but you posted off road needs so...

I’m going to buy the add a leaf pack to lift my rear. I think it’s better option.

Yeah some pretty rough paths for work, and I have a peace of land up in Oregon in a pretty wooded area I often visit. Lower portion of the body is scratched and often the bigger tire size is the only think that kept me from ruining the bottom of the truck. So thought about a lift..

I think in short term, every lift is the same. Cause factory spring is gonna sag over time. The real question is do you want to bite the bullet and get the real leaf pack that last or do the cheaper option and change it later down the line. But maybe by that time you gonna sell the truck already.

Roadmaster active suspension can get you some lift and help with loads too. I have the HD kit IMG_20210515_201800_2.jpg

Those are helper spring, it’s good for towing and hauling, not that good for off-road

Far superior to add a leaf, not cheap either, think I paid about $550

You're absolutely correct, depends on whether or not you will keep the truck long enough to gain benefits from the costs.

I’m keeping this around for a while, they’re killing the NA v8’s and this thing’s a workhorse. I put about 85k on it since 2018, besides the recalls on the sensors it’s held up well. I moved 2200lbs of concrete and tiles, and towed 13k lb forklift for my job, which is a bit over the recommended, haven’t run into any problems..
I’m just replacing suspension and UCA since it been seeping for 12k miles and was wondering if I could apply a minor lift while I’m at it.

My 07 had Toytec shackles and an AAL with OEM leaf packs. OME shocks on all for corners. Plenty of articulation. Leafs never flattened out with my topper and camping gear although I hauled a decent load of rocks once and the leafs leveled out a bit but I rarely hauled super heavy loads. Here a couple pics of my 07. Haven't decided if I'm going to add an AAL on my 14. No more topper so that's less weight to be carrying around all the time.

also, a bit unrelated but what’s the difference in ride height between TRD PRO and TRD off-road

Would you known the height difference? is it leveled or lifted higher, I’ve heard different things, I think the trd pro height might work for me.

After reading about some of your excursions, you might have lost some factory height already due to the flattening of the springs. I know it was loaded pretty good a few times for the factory springs. Just something to keep in mind.
